Delano Mendoza-Holt
I have a Model PX-S3000 that sustains normally with my Casio pedal when plugged into an amp, but when it’s plugged into a system at a local theatre company I’m working for, the sustain starts acting strange. It will sustain for shorter period of time in the middle range of the keyboard. The lower range sustains but cuts in and out. The higher range doesn’t sustain much at all. It’s the strangest thing. And again, it all works just fine when plugged into my amp. Any thoughts?!
Solution Brad Saucier Posted August 26, 2023 Solution Share Posted August 26, 2023 An acoustic piano does not have dampers on the strings of high notes. The Casio emulates that appropriately. As far as middle and low range anomalies, it's unlikely the piano is malfunctioning. It's more likely the sound system at the theater is negatively impacting sound quality. It sounds like a noise gate is active on the system.
