drumsontour
Can I set up organ tones to use mod wheel for rotary control and save that tone or does it have to be done in stage settings? I can't stand the manual, but sure love the instrument. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Display Name
Hi and welcome to the forums. The PX-5S is ALWAYS in Stage Setting mode, so you need to make a stage setting with the tones and controls you want. When you select a tone it will "run" under whatever stage setting you currently have selected. Hope this makes sense.
drumsontour
So the user tones are basically just edited tones but controls can not be saved only the tone? Then for controls the tone would have to be saved as a stage setting? I think I get it now. Kinda confusing after using Roland and Alesis, but this thing is killer so far. Now I sometimes have the need to just call up user tones on the fly for skits and improvs so I made a Stage Setting just for playing tones. The SS is set for my most frequently used effects on the controls and that way I can just call up a tone and have the knobs and sliders work the same on all of them. You can also make a "Brass Tone Stage Setting", "String Tone SS", etc and program them for the controls you want for those sounds.
