ovation99
Hi,I am new to the forum and the CTK7200, I previously used Yamaha PSR-S910 and Korg MicroArranger. So I've had some steep learning curves in the past. One of the aspects I have been used to, is to copy a preset rhythm to the User area and do some modifications and re-save the modified rhythm to the user area.I can't seem to find any facility that allows me to do this as the display indicates that the data is fixed.Am I missing something or do I have to create from scratch? Any help is much appreciated
Brad Saucier
Fix Data means that you will have to totally delete the part and record new data in its place. Editing of the original data is not possible. http://support.casio.com/pdf/008/Web_CTK7200_WK7600E1A.pdf#page=
- T -
As noted by BradMZ above, any data labeled "Fix Data" can not be edited AS SUCH. However, see the note labeled "IMPORTANT" at the bottom of the right hand column on Page 113 of the manual and the instructions it makes reference to on Page 119. You can copy "Fix Data" to a "record area" and edit it there. I have known for some time that this is possible, but have never tried it myself, and so can not state how involved it really gets, but it may be worth a try for what you want. If you do try this, note that the procedure uses the "Pattern Sequencer", so the keyboard would need to be in "Pattern Sequencer" (NOT "Song Sequencer) mode, or you will not find the correct menus in the display. I don't mean to be overly fundamental with this, but it is something that is often overlooked by new users. Good luck ! Brad - Have you had any experience with the "copy and edit" process the manual makes reference to ? My concern is that many of these "work arounds" turn out to be a lot more difficult and/or limited than the manual makes them appear. I looked up and read the pdf manual to answer this. My actual pattern sequencer experience is with the MZ-2000, which is not entirely similar to the current models. - T -
Thanks anyway, Brad. Maybe someone with some experience with this will chime in here with their advice.
