Piano Peaces
Hi All, This is my first post. I looked around a bit but could not find the answer so here goes... I am finding that the volume of the takes on the usb drive is quite low. They sound find when played back through the machine but when I put them on a computer they are very quiet. I have used audacity to "Amplify" but the track is still lower than I would like it to be. I have the Sys settings/Sound Generator/Audio Volume set to 127. I think this is the highest it goes? Anyways, any help you could provide would be nice.
Brad Saucier
Hi Dannician, Welcome! Recorded audio volume can seem low because of the very wide dynamic range of the PX-5s. When a loud stage setting is used, the recording will be closer to normal. When something simple like a piano is recorded it will seem low by comparison. But even piano, with 256 note polyphony and very energetic playing can get loud. Here's what you can do. You can boost the recorded volume on the 5s by adjusting the output volume of the master compressor and/or eq. Can also boost the zone volumes and/or tone volumes. This all adds up. Be very careful. The recording can clip quickly without warning. For me, I would skip all of that and just keep using the normalize or amplify effect in audacity. Hope this helps. Piano Peaces
Ok thank you. I will take a look at those other settings. I have tried both normalize and amplify to no avail. It may be the stage settings now that I think about it. I was able to amplify other songs that were done with a different setting. They were both piano only, but the first were the concert grand and this last one that is so quiet is Dolce Grand. With the Concert Grand on default setting an "amplify" or "normalize" seemed to work ok. It was not as loud as I wanted but it worked. With the Dolce Grand it is still too quiet affter the audacity effects. Interesting.
Piano Peaces
Set the system volume to 127Set the tone volume to 127 seemed to help but they still seem to soft.... What am I missing? http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/726-/http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/727-/
Brad Saucier
Press the master effect button. Go to EQ and look for output level. Boost it. Repeat for compressor. Might have to also boost input level. IDK. Be mindful of clipping. It can be done. I've done it before.
Hugh O Kelly
I find not only does the audio recording work well but I can plug the hammond in too and record that too, haven't tried vocals, that's next. The great advantage of it is if you have a song in your head ,you can record it instantly or I play along with my favourite musicians because it is very quick.Yes,I would like if you could label them rather than TAKE 33,just heard one of those lovely old films and copied a lady playing piano, handy.About volumeThe more you put in,the more you get out,bit like life
