NikosP
Hi, I just got my PX5S yesterday and have been enjoying it almost non-stop :-) Since I am listening mainly through headphones, I find that the bass notes of the piano patches are too much "on the left side". I would like to bring them more to the right, ie narrower stereo spread accross the keyboard. Is there a way? I tried doing that in hex layer mode which provides access to the raw waveforms, but then I must be missing all the "AIR" technology which, if I undestand correctly, is there only in "tone" level. Is there such a tone available?
Joe Muscara
There's a mono piano somewhere, but that might be too narrow. You could see if that leads you to find how to narrow the stereo piano.
NikosP
I found the mono piano which is a tone, but can't figure out how it was made. Must be some lower level programming not accessible from the front panel. Is there a tone editor for that?
Joe Muscara
There should be a mono piano stage setting, though if that uses a mono sample from the start, it doesn't help if you want a narrower stereo piano.
Joe Muscara
I just had a look at the listings for the updated ALL file and I don't see a mono piano Stage Setting, and I'm not sure if there was one in there by default. Sorry if that's led you astray. Theoretically, you could change the tone in the Stage Setting to the mono piano and leave everything else as is. That could get you what you want if you're okay with the mono sound.
Mike Martin
Try using the Lid Simulator DSP effect. It reduces the overall stereo image of the piano.
