amaverick
Hi everyone! I have not been on the forum in a while . Just returned a Roland Fa-06 and was thinking about purchasing the MZX 500. I loved my XW- P1 and made several hex-layer sounds which I shared on this site. Is 128 notes polyphony enough to run four combined hex-layers on the MZX-500 ? Or should I look into a used PX-5S with its doubled polyphony? I love creating orchestral and soundtrack kind of sounds to use. The arranger part and pads on the MZX-500 really would be nice though . I would really be ticked off to purchase the MZX and then a month later Casio release a newer version with higher polyphony. Thanks for any input guys and gals ! Brad Saucier
I've never run out of polyphony on the MZ. 128 is plenty. Keep in mind the PX-5S can only run 2 hex tones at once despite the higher poly. Also remember the MZ is still really new, it won't be replaced anytime soon.
