  1. It's fine really. It's a lot of bang for the buck for a portable battery powered keyboard that sounds fantastic! It would be nice to have the MIDI implementation opened up in whatever API is inside but I get it. Thanks. In the meantime I still have my trusty Korg PA-600 for the heavy lifting with years and years of programming intact and running on it from previous and higher end models and conversions from Triton, Yamaha, Roland and Ketron.
  2. Thank you. I think that's absurd. It is such an easy implementation. Intentionally crippled IMHO.
  3. I'm wondering if the 1.05 Firmware will allow this. Haven't tried it yet. This whole pedal thing has been a turnoff. IMHO this is a tremendous oversight.
  4. It's in the manual on page EN-33. Convoluted instructions as typical with this keyboard. Interface is terrible IMPO.
  5. Casio tech called back again. Says only possible on 5000. Says its just crippled in the GUI but will escalate to developers to see what can be done. Thinks its a trivial change to open midi assignments on the 3000 and then a firmware update which will allow a pedal on the 3000 to function as the M/A button on the 3000. We shall see. He also sees the pro market revenue possibilities by having this on the battery operated 3000.
  6. Thank you Joe and Brad. I commiserate with you, Joe. The interface is wanting. The Korg touchscreens have spoiled me. And Brad, that seems to be the case. What I'm trying to do is easily map-able on the 5000 to the M/A button. I am sure that there is a way to do it on the 3000, even without the an M/A button. CC1 is available on the 3000. Just how to connect that to the pedal via the config. I spoke to a Casio tech today and he also thinks there's go to be a way. Either it's buried in the config screens or the there's theoretically no code connection from the firmware to the M/A button on the 3000 because that may be how it's implemented and on the 3000 it's not there. But... this is just a very basic MIDI controller assignment. To me, it's ludicrous that it's not possible. In any case, he is escalating it higher and agrees it should be possible without relying on a hardware button for the assignment. Let's keep each other posted! When I have time, I'm going to hook it up to my computer and send a CC1 to it and see what happens. Through a DAW or via another keyboard controller. I'll keep the fire extinguisher handy. This should not be crippled in the 3000 because there is no magic mod button.
  7. Perhaps I'm being impatient? There's got to be someone else around who is interested in let's say controlling the rotary on an organ. I just can't figure this out.
  8. There's footnote in the manual where it says that the Roland EV-5 is compatible. (The Nektar is really the same). I hooked up the EV-5 and still no joy. On a happier note, I got the Chordana app to work FWIW.
  9. Thanks! Its an inexpensive Nektar. It has a polarity switch and range trim pot. Pretty standard. It works in that it calibrates fine but only acts as volume. Im thinking that since there is a pedal1 setting and a pedal2 maybe its like Yamaha where there are 2 plugs besides sustain and p1 is volume and p2 is expression. You assign CC for each patch. Maybe thats it? Usually I just assign a global CC but I dont see how on this keyboard. Regarding this pedal, it works as expression on every keyboard I have: Korg, Yamaha, Roland and my various controllers. Im sure its a setting, global or per instrument, likely as Pdl2 as expression. I also have Yamaha, Korg, Roland and Moog pedals that I have not tried yet but they all work the same way on everthing else. I am pretty sure its just setting it up correctly as global and/or instrument function (lfo, reso, filter, mod, etc.). I could try the others but my gut tells me that configuring the 3000 is not as simple as the other brands. Likely it is easier on the 5000 because of the mod button. I need to control mod depth, cutoff, rotary so a toggle wont do it. There has got to be a way, especially because the midi implementation is there.
  10. I just put the 3000 it through my Mackie Reach (why can't I find those anymore) and a Behringer sub. All I can say is AWESOME.
  11. Sorry for the duplicate post. My computer looked like it was hanging on the save button so I did it again, Still got stuck on "Saving". But I opened page 2 and there they were!
  12. Has anyone got the expression pedal to duplicate a mod-wheel on the 3000?
  13. Greetings everyone. I have been using Casio keyboards since the CZ-101 of every type, CZ-1, CZ-1000, assorted Privias, given away numerous inexpensive ones to relatives and students and never had a single baffling moment until now! The issue is, I follow the manual steps to configure Pedal2 as Expression (I would like to assign Modulation to it) but all it ever does is Volume. I have used this pedal on every synth I have from Korg, Yamaha, Kurzweil and numerous VSTs without any issues. It's been more or less plug and play and never had to spend more than a couple of minutes with stuff like polarity, range adjustment and sometimes assigning the MIDI CC for Modulation. But the CT-X3000 has got me pulling my hair out for hours just going through what it says in the manual with no joy. I am hoping someone could help me out. Is there something I'm missing? Can it be done at all? Or do I need mental help (don't answer)? Thanks in advance. I really want to go live with this awesome keyboard but alas, without an expression pedal for mod, resonance, leslie, etc, it's a showstopper.
