  1. This is pretty cool. 😀 As get more time I and trying to learn this board. I really like the clarity of the voice on the first video.
  2. I just got this board last night. I have been searching for a midi controller and had a few issues with some of the current ones. Especially the keybed and velocity. I got to try the s1000v and s500 at a music store and ended up getting the s1000v. I wanted a midi controller to gig with. Previously sold my Casio ctk7200 which I was using as my live gigging board with my iPad. I have been back and forth with some other brands over the last two months. I sat down late playing with the keyboard and love the feel as a midi controller. I think Casio needs this keybed in all the newer models. I’m i interested to see how this turns out as I tend to blend sounds from the iPad and the keyboard. The good thing is it has a music stand, expression pedal and space for me to connect possibly my MacBook, audio interface or other gadgets on the speaks during live playing as I would not need them then. Can’t wait to get home tonight. Forgot how much I miss portable keyboards. Some used to look funny at my Casio 7200 until I plugged it into an amp and played the sounds. 😃They were shocked at the sound
  3. Same here I try to stay close as flat playing live but I adjust my amp eq to the bass sound on the spilt function if I have to. I try to get the casio bass guitar to sound more like a clean bass that is not too boomy. Once I have done that I know it will be clear when I play the other sounds with or without bass. I usually like the bright sound coming out of the keyboard. My PA speakers do not have mids layering instruments usually helps.
  4. I use audio evolution on my keyboards. I have downloaded free sound fonts and loaded them. I usually avoid using them live for worry of phone crashing. I hook my phone headphone jack to the 3.5mm audio in on my Casio CTK7200 when I want thicker sounds. I combine the internal instrument sounds with the sound fonts
  5. Thanks for the info. It they come out with a new one I may swap it for my 7200. Yamaha is tempting me right now also with new psr keyboards. I may wait it out to see what casio does.
  6. Does any one know if there will be a sequel to these two keyboards in the next year? I currently have the CTK700 as my gigging keyboard and was wondering if I should wait it out. Looking back I should have bought the xwp1 but I passed up on it because it did not have speakers. I like the pro arrangers but they are currently a little out of my range. The xwp1 with more polyphony would be cool too if there is a sequel to that. I like the extra functions of the CTX5000 but did not consider it because of no drawbars. I do like that it has 2 layers on both splits and extra style variation.
  7. Look interesting from what I see on YouTube. They could do something retro with upgraded sounds.
  8. Chas I never heard of the first Casio because I did not follow them that close years ago but the recent ones I would say are at the top of the list. I just looked at the 2000 and it looks like a keyboard I would have wanted. I was looking at mz500 and px5s about a year ago as an upgrade. I wanted to get a stage piano and also complete 61 or 73 key workstation for gigging. I'm still thinking about the mz500 although I am wondering if Casio will be coming out with another workstation like it in a few years.
  9. I'm not sure if this question has been asked before but what's the best Casio Keyboard ever made and why? I did not see this in the search but feel free to merge it if it is a repeat. I've played some older casios and now have the CTK7200. This is probably the best one I've had so far as a workstation in that price range. they reason I bought it was because it is a workstation first and also has the drawbar organ which I also use as a midi controller. I actually purchased it over a Yamaha 453 some years back because of these features and it has 64 polyphony. I was tempted to get the new ctx 5000 at one point but did not because it had no sliders. I then also thought of the mz500 in recent years.
  10. I press the mixer button and change the volume for that part channel to the level i desire and then save it as a registration bank.
  11. I use my Casio CTK 7200 with a harbinger 12in powered speaker. I may buy a PA speaker later with a better EQ but it gets the job done for playing at weddings and church services.
