    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Thanks to the PX-5's powerful hex layer synth I was able to get a decent approximation of the sound of a toy piano by using 12 layers of other wave sounds.

  8. Old Upright (MZ-X500, hex layer)

A very different piano sound from the presets.  Using hex layer synth mode, split shifting the factory piano samples dramatically alters the timbre.  The result is a sound reminiscent of the old upright piano I grew up playing.  This was a tone I originally programmed for the PX-5S, now ported to the MZ-X500.

  9. Brad's Country Shuffle (CT-X5000/3000)

I've created a totally new country shuffle rhythm on the Casio CT-X5000. This should also work well in a CT-X3000. This is a very simple rhythm with no frills, as any good keyboard country rhythm should be. It's extremely versatile, sounds authentic and can be used for tons of country rhythm tunes. The intro is a simple drum stick count-in.  In the demo linked below, I'm using a custom piano tone (Piano2- included) to play the intro, lead, and ending over the backing rhythm elements. The rhythm does not play these piano parts for you. What is included in the rhythm is the drum track, a rhythm guitar and a rhythm piano. There are 2 fill-in elements, an intro and ending. Variations 1/2 are repeated as variations 3/4 respectively, but are remixed with piano rhythm taking a slightly more prominent position in the mix. 1/2 have rhythm guitar slightly more prominent than piano in the mix.  Don't forget to comment, like and share any recordings you make with this rhythm.  I hope you enjoy it!

Song Demo: Ray Price - City Lights

Note: I left some mistakes in my piano playing to prove I am human.  No, not really...

  11. CncrtGrd SRE.ZPF

Concert Grand Piano Shorter Release EQ'ed
This is a modification of the factory preset Stage Setting "0-0 Concert Grand". It has a shorter release time allowing for cleaner note separation during staccato play. I attempted to recreate the same note separation that I noticed in recordings of "Acoustic Piano's". This setting feels really choppy if your used to the original preset but after some time with it you will feel like the original release time was too long.
I've also tweaked the EQ. The low frequency's have been reduced and the high's increased for a brighter sound. Again, I was attempting to get the sound of a real acoustic recording.

  13. VL-TONE Rock Rhythm with VL-TONE Piano

Here is Retro Casio for the PX-5S. This is an emulation of the famous VL-TONE Rock rhythm. It also emulates the VL-Tone Piano but with more polyphony and key range (obviously).
The Rock Rhythm is triggered by the upper most B note. It's made with an arpeggio. As a happy accident, variations of the rhythm can be heard on the two adjacent keys.
    Enjoy !!

  19. Morse Code Sounds for Spacey Themes

This is a Stage Setting that includes a hex layer on zone 1. The Hex tone has 3 split layers of Morse code beep tones that are panned Left, Right and center. Each layer's volume is assigned to sliders 1,2 and 3. Use the sliders for bringing the different codes in and out.
I programmed a phrase that will play 3 different Morse code sequences all at the same time yet are really separate because of how it is arranged in relation to the Morse Beep Hex Layer. The different codes in the phrase sequence are mapped to the 3 Split zones of the hex layer.
    Code 1) Left Channel Tone
    Code 2) Center Ch. Tone
    Code 3) Right Ch.

The phrase is not assigned as an arpeggio in this Stage Setting. Use the phrase player. The Morse phrase is on this download page.

  23. Casio SK-1 Drum Kit for the XW-G1

Here it is. Samples of the little sampler from the 80's. These are the drum kit sounds from the SK-1.
There are 8 samples from the SK-1 here so I split them among 2 tones since the G1 only allows 5 samples per tone.
The drum samples in the 2 wave tones are automatically lined up along the lowest 8 naturals when you layer them in 2 zones.

  24. Here I Go Again Stage Setting

My attempt at the sounds for playing the intro to the 1987 recording of Here I Go Again by Whitesnake. Mike Martin tackled this song early on by request. I decided to start from scratch with my own interpretation of the sound. Piano is in the lowest octave.
    Demo of the sound here.

  25. Baba O'Reilly

This is by no means complete but I figured I would post it since I probably won't finish it any time soon. It's for playing the signature arp pattern and piano on the song of the same name.
2 arpeggiators are synced in this setup. The arp is in the upper octaves and piano is lower.
Pressing and holding F6 will start the first arp pattern and sync the second one to the first. While continuing to hold F6, play D7 and E7 and so on (you'll have to learn the pattern) to sound the second arp and complete the pattern. The second arp is synced to the first so that it can fire it's notes in the offbeat of the first arp. This somewhat simulates the marimba repeat feature on the original Lowery organ. Unfortunately, the original organ seems to have many alternating zones. The PX5 doesn't have enough arps and zones to fully emulate the original organ so I rearranged the first arp pattern to make up for some of it.
This stage setting would need to be accompanied by more stage settings containing other variations of the arp pattern. It get's a bit complicated so I have come to a standstill on this.
