  1. I was thinking of that on my CTK-7200; I saw where someone did it, but now I can't find the post anywhere! They even had pictures and what resistor they used in series with it. And I also thought, heck, while I'm at it, might as well get a two switch box and do the Mod button while I'm at it, it's as hard to reach as the speed button.
  2. Is there any way to get arpeggiation applied to the bottom split (Part 3) on the keyboard vs. the first voice (Part)? Even selected to Split it seems no matter what I do I get kicked out of the arpeggiation mode whenever I do anything except change the arpeggiation number. Then it applies it to the first voice, not what I want. I'm trying to "automate" the bass/synth line on Sweet Dreams are Made of This by The Eurythmics. All I want to do is have it play an octave delayed after each note is hit. As it is I'm just playing a four-count on each note, not quite the same thing. I tried playing the octave notes and I'm afraid I'm just not that good!!! Not consistently, anyway. Or maybe just lazy, I dunno. But it would sure come in handy while playing the solo!!! Maybe there's a way to use the DSP Delay function, but I can't figure out how to do it that way, either. I'll just use another copy of that register next to it to turn the effect off for the other parts. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. I couldn't find a tutorial that spent any time on arpeggiation, maybe there's something out there?
  3. Nice idea. That button is in about the worst location they could have put it. I was thinking of some sort of mechanical "button pusher" that would be a long straight "bar" above the keys but below the first row of buttons; one end resting on that button, the other end just on a small block. Push down anywhere on the bar and it would depress the button. Might need another pivot point below the button somewhere, just outboard of the keys. But after seeing this, that got me thinking. So are the contact points that you soldered to basically the same leads from the button itself, and this just jumpers around it? It's a momentary contact pedal, correct? Thanks, and again, good thinking!
  4. Hey guys, thanks, I'm understanding that basically when panned, I'm essentially only getting half the "sound" (total signal) for each tone out to the respective amps. (I do understand the non-linear relationship between signal strength and perceived end volume, no problem.) That also probably explains why applying a chorus effect, which would go to both channels, results in an exaggerated volume boost. I discussed this with our guitar player/mixer guy. First we'll try using a -45 pan on the bass/left side and +45 on the right. It's a zero-cost option; the range on this model is -64 to +64 of course. This also explains the disparity between level settings on the bass side mini-mixer for the same apparent volume in the house; compared to everything going out the left/mono jack and only using the bass amp. Split like this, neither signal is that far from unity for it to be a problem. As a fall-back, worst case I could still just send everything there, which is how I initially started out playing around with. I've got enough power and the amp/cabs are transparent enough to get away with it. Based on this information, the other alternative is an active volume pedal going over to the mixer, or a passive pedal and a pre-amp. This would both allow raising the gain AND I'll have a volume control for the right side. Hmmm, back in the old spinet organ days I'd have called it an expression pedal!   5. Hi, help, TIAs!. I'm sending the right output to our PA mixer and getting very low signal/volume. What are the output levels on my 7200? Do I need to to through a DI and go to a mic input? Impedance matching? Active or Passive? The left is going to my bass amp, and I've got the keyboard splits panned in the registrations. Bass guitar on the left split, various other instruments on the right. For the bass I'm also going to a mono mini-mixer with my bass guitar on another input, so I can balance them and switch back and forth freely. Thanky knidly.

Old thread, but for what it's worth, once you push the Registration Button, and before doing anything else, you can use the No (-) Button to move back DOWN through the Bank numbers instead of going up. The wheel will take you back, too, but it's a pain to hit the right number. The Yes (+) Button will take you up, but that's unnecessary because the Registration Button still does the same thing. Also, remember that each time you hit the Registration Button, it goes UP one Bank; if you use it to go to bank 2, for instance, hitting it again takes you to Bank 3; to go down to Bank 1, you have to hit No (-) twice.
  7. Might have got dropped when my original post was merged to both CTK forums. Thanks for the reply, it definitely helps sorting this out. The manual doesn't help much. It looks like it's fairly straightforward to send a MIDI note stream out to another device, but I don't see where it would let me bring anything in. It looks like all of the A 1-16 channels are out only, and the B 1-16 channels are all involved in triggering sequences. I'll have to do some more research. I saw one of the used Studiologic units dirt cheap on a non-music-related website, but someone must have snapped it up. Another alternative would be a Keith McMillen Instruments 12 Step USB MIDI Bass Pedal, around $300.   8. I got referred to this thread because I asked a question on the WT xx / CTK-7200 forum. I think I may have a instance for one practical application of this topic. I'm basically a M-IDIot, although I did use some MIDI equipment many many moons ago; still have some cables, in fact. But it doesn't help. Maybe you kind folks can. Basically I play bass guitar in a gigging 3-piece cover band. I got a CTK-7200 so that I could add some extras when we're playing; the flute, piano, horn/string/vocal sections on certain songs. The problem obviously is that playing both a keyboard and a bass simultaneously is not an easy thing to do. Splitting the keyboard doesn't help much, my left hand doesn't 'bass' well while being independent of my right hand. So I was wondering about using a foot pedalboard to keep the bass line going. I learned music playing a spinet organ four or five decades ago, and I got pretty good at the pedals. Looking at the hardware options, most pedalboard setups would involve not only the board, but also a synth and associated gear. Fairly bulky, complex, much more to set up, etc. And I'm looking at the CTK, which has a MIDI USB port, and I see (in my mind, anyway) that there is a channel specific to MIDI. I'm thinking maybe it might be possible to use a MIDI pedalboard as an input to the CTK and let it generate the sound. So no additional synth, audio signal chain, amp, etc. besides the CTK. Is this even possible? Since most traditional pedalboards have a conventional 5-pin DIN MIDI out, I'm thinking these devices discussed here would be the correct interface, with the signal from the pedalboard going to the MIDI IN, and the MIDI USB going to the keyboard (as an OUT) with the interface being the Host. For newer pedalboards also with a USB MIDI connection, I was thinking I could get to one of the interfaces, go MIDI OUT to MIDI IN to another one, and follow the first way up to the keyboard. Am I totally off bass here? (Pun accidentally typed!) Plus then the other issue is how to get the keyboard to recognize the data coming in as individual note information. I know MIDI can carry a large diversity of information; is that part possible? I 'm not looking at issuing any sequence, program, tone, patch or other info, just a series of notes. So, is there any hope of getting something like this to work? Or should I just concentrate on tap playing the bass with my left hand, keyboard stuff on the right, and just be happy with that? Thank you very much to anyone who could give me a little help on this, it'd be muchly appreciated.

  10. I play bass in a gigging cover band, got a CTK7200 for certain songs where I need a flute or piano or other sound. It would be great to be able to keep the bass line going with a pedalboard. Is there any way to bring in a MIDI signal to play notes via the MIDI channel I see in the manual? Thanks!
