The Privia 7000 has a 2 track 5 song recorder

I don't have my 3000 anymore so I can't test this any further, but no the sound wouldn't have been exiting the speakers (since the headphone port is in use which disables the speakers); the sound would exit out of the other headphone port if headphones were plugged in. What I'm wishing I had tested when I still had it is to see if the audio in coming through the headphone port would be included in the L/R line outs and (or) recording to the USB flash drive.

On the 1000/3000 there is an aux in on the back. On the 1100, they removed that port in favor of bluetooth; but as someone on my channel noticed, they can use one of the headphone ports as an in anyways

And you can use either one as an input and the other as output . . . We have travelled to the twilight zone. I posted it in Casio keyboards Facebook group as well, none of the Casio reps chimed in

Given that there is a 1/8" audio in on the back I would be surprised if it was intentional, and the manual only refers to the ones on the front as headphones but who knows - if it was intentional, they should be including that in the specs of the new PX-S1100 because I've had multiple subscribers on my channel say they are either looking for used PX-S1000's or other products entirely because they removed the 1/8" audio in from the back of the 1100.

Ok so out of morbid curiosity I plugged headphones into the 1/8" audio in on the back (part of me was expecting them to work ) but alas they did not so that port seems to work as expected.

I have zero wiring / electrical knowledge (so I don't know exactly what you mean by backfeeding), but one thing to add is that the quality of the audio in signal that I get on this port is 100% as good as the actual audio in port on the back of the piano (if I didn't know which one I was using I wouldn't know the difference). Hey maybe I should plug some headphones into the audio in on the back and see what happens . . . .

Not at all a stupid question given the bizarre nature of this issue, and yes it does work as a headphone jack I don't know how this is happening either. I did test this on my other 2 boards (Yamaha PSR-EW425 and Casiotone CT-S1) and thankfully no, those don't have this issue they work normally. But yes it does make you wonder if this is a "healthy" situation for headphones. I'd have to guess they probably are all like this because I heard about this from someone on my YouTube channel; I had a post on the PX-S1100 saying I wish they hadn't removed the 1/8" audio in that the PX-S1000 had from the PX-S1100 - and the person commented that they use one of the headphone ports on their 1100 as an audio in (which is what got me to confirm it's like that on my 3000 as well)

Seems to be an issue / “phenomenon” only on the PX-S privias. I tested this on my Casiotone CT-S1, and my Yamaha PSR-EW425 and the headphone ports behave normally on those 2 (no mysterious audio in functionality).

I had someone on my YouTube post on the Casio PX-S1100 (which only has audio in via BlueTooth - they removed the 1/8" audio in port that the 1000 had) say that they've been using one of the headphone ports as an audio in. I thought they must have been mistaken so I tested that on my PX-S3000 and yes it does work as an audio in! I will be testing this on the other keyboards I own right away but wanted to ask if anyone has noticed this before, and is this normal??? Seems pretty bizarre to me . . .

Thanks so much for that (the analog mixer was a great way to explain this). I guess the lesson I have learned from this is never save a registration after having adjusted a live control knob, or there will be no way to return that registration to it's "default/starting" position, other than using my ear to manually return the reverb level to what it was as per the depth setting. I reset the piano to factory defaults so that I could clear that and redo my registrations (I couldn't find a way to just clear a registration). Thanks again all for your help!

Here's a video trying to demonstrate the issue. It seems that: when reverb is assigned to the knob, knob adjustments to reverb are independent of the reverb depth level (the depth on the menu doesn't change, and when the reverb on the knob is at max, it is significantly more reverb than the depth will give you when max'd without the knob) if you have adjusted reverb using the knob, then switch the knob to another use, reverb will be "stuck" at wherever the knob level "left it", and depth adjustments on the menu no longer have any effect on the reverb Let me know if I'm doing something wrong or if this behaviour is normal/expected and I am just misunderstanding something . . .

Hey there - thanks for that - I was thinking that would be how it works but it doesn't look like it is (it's actually a bit confusing). I will upload a video when I have time to show this, but the behavior I observed was kind of bizarre: - when you move the knobs, it doesn't change the reverb depth shown on the menu - I set the reverb depth on the menu from default of 64 to max of 127, and compared the reverb level (in my headphones) to NOT using the depth in the menu, but using the knob instead and the knob gave me dramatically more reverb when maxed than the menu setting did (it appears that the knob has a bigger range) - I turned the knob to 0 reverb, and switched the knobs to a different usage (not reverb anymore), and went in to the menu, and no matter what I set the menu reverb to, I got zero reverb, even tried switching the reverb types around and moving the depth up and down, zero reverb It seems like once I use the knob for reverb, it seems to take over reverb control from the menu setting, and even if I switch the knobs to something else, I will be left at whatever reverb level I last used the knob at. Have to play with it some more, but it's weird enough I may not use that feature. I will try to upload a video demonstrating this in the next few days.

If I choose Reverb/Chorus send for the live knobs (#11 in the Knob Set List), do these knobs now add ADDITIONAL reverb/chorus depth (on top of whatever reverb/chorus depth is already chosen/configured) or does the knob now just adjust the level of what is chosen/configured? Not sure if I'm asking this clearly so here is an example: if I have reverb depth on the piano set at 10, and then I use the knob set up for "Reverb Send" and turn it all the way to the left, will I have adjusted the piano reverb depth to 0? or to 10?

Just tested it auto resume will set your voice (as well as rhythm choices, many other settings etc) to whatever it was set to when you last turned off the piano, so not really a solution for "default" settings for things like touch response. I had that issue with the PX-S1100 as well; at least the 3000 has registrations so I'll have to set up a registration with my default settings and then just get used to loading that manually whenever I turn on the piano. Hey there just got one of these bad boys. Won't auto resume always resume however the keyboard was set up the way you last turned it off? Or are you saying to always remember to load the registration you're using as your "default" setup right before you turn off the keyboard every time? Casio needs to include the "My Setup" feature from the Casiotones in the PX-S series (especially the 1000/1100).

I actually recently bought an 1100 and I love the action and the piano sounds (and the 1/4" line outs), I never bother with the acoustic simulator; I'm just salivating over the better user interface with menu (Chordana Play is ok but crazy laggy), the audio in jack is still there (I'm not a BlueTooth fan), and the built in rhythms for practice (I'm using various apps for that, but built in would be nice). I'd love to try one of these out, no stores where I am have them in yet. The 3100 solves alot of those but I saw the price in my area and it's a couple hundred $ more than the 3000 was (and the menu on the CDP is way nicer). I'm never satisfied, I know . . . So the upgrade to the CDP-S350 has been announced; double the polyphony is nice, but a couple questions I can't seem to find answers for on any Casio sites: 1) Is the action the same as the PX-S1100? The site says the PX-S1100 is "Smart Scaled Hammer Action", and the CDP-S360 is "Smart Scaled Hammer Action Ⅱ" 2) What is the sound source for the CDP-S360? Is it the AiR chip?

I found with my PXS1100 that the BlueTooth MIDI was so laggy it wasn't usable anyways - I'm using a cable. The BlueTooth audio works fine
