  1. Hi Glen, sad to say but I'm glad I'm not alone with this failure.....significant? I'm a Glen too.
  2. Hi Brad and Jokeyman123, I have contacted the very reputable store where I purchased the board, I've dealt with them for over 30 years, however, I was referred to the Casio Warranty Agency. In reference to batteries I never use them , but thanks for the thought. I may have to use the Australian Department of Fair Trading to advance my case. I appreciate the suggestions I have received from the forum. Many of my piano player friends have played my keyboard, at jazz sit-ins , one purchasing a PXs1000 and another thinking of getting one instead of his Yamaha. All players appreciate the great action and excellent piano sound.
  3. Hi Trooplewis, there have been three types of failures .One, the power just goes off and the keyboard needs to be powered up again. Second, the current sound freezes and nothing changes ( no sound) until it is powered off. Third, the current sound freezes and then after a few seconds the keyboard powers down and then has to be powered up again. Each time after turning on again it works fine.....till the next time....arhhhhh
  4. Hi Brad, yes I have an identical power supply and I have interchanged them with the result that the fault has occurred with both.
  5. Hi All, my keyboard froze then turned itself off yesterday twice within the hour. I have previously posted about this having happened 5 times in the previous 10 months. The warranty repair person said it is very difficult to diagnose intermittent faults. It seems to happen when changing registrations. Has anyone else experienced this failure? ....shep
  6. Hi, my PXS3000 has turned itself off 4 times over a period of about 10 months periodic band usage, though it does power up again when the on button is pushed. I am still waiting for a reply from the warranty specialists as to what they will do for me ? Given the other strange states mentioned in the forum I suspect that a software revision may be necessary...?
  7. Hi all, my keyboard has decided to turn itself off again . I have previously posted with this problem. It seems to me that the processing power is insufficient and the "chip" gets muddled so it turns off. It seems to happen when changing registrations ? On restart everything is fine. Anyone else share this misfortune. With the state of the world I'm loathe to send it to Casio......shep
  8. Hi All, now having many registrations on my Casio 3000 it would be fast and convenient to be able to call up each registration by number from an app. Currently I have to make a number of key strokes to effect a registration change. When performing, this is cumbersome and slow especially when reading notation. I also own a PX 560 M and using the hex layers I can set up many sounds that can be accessed with minimum keystrokes. Also the screen is a big advantage. Having a dedicated app for the 3000 would enable you to mark your music with a number and at each registration change effect a change, say, by touching a tablet. Example could be, a matrix with bank and number listed so that 5-4 could be Bank 5 sound 4. Quick and easy? Not sure if this exists........
  9. Hi All, I have found extraneous instruments sounds in split mode using accompaniment. I want a pure piano sound only. I have edited the accompaniment removing all other backing except bass and drums. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Any help appreciated.....in anticipation ...Thanks shep
  10. Hi Chris, a good rant...I too have a 560M and owned a PX5S and numerous other Roland, Ensoniq etc before that. Now my main board for Jazz is the S3000, which I am totally happy with due to weight, sounds, playability....also good to see another Ozzy on the forum....Shep
  11. Thanks Jokeyman123, I will take your advice on board excuse the pun. I have a relatively new PX560 and will swap the power supply over as they are both the same. Also I'll learn to spell.... glitche .....I have notified the store so that if it happens again I'll follow up with them.....thanks again PS: The key action is the thing that sold me. I play the PX560 with a Roland BK7M for "old time dances" and use the PXs3000 for jazz and big band gigs. Many of my fellow jazzers have also used my keyboard and commented on the beautiful action. Further the sounds are excellent and quick and easy to access.
  12. Hi Jokeyman 123, the only other appliance plugged in is my Bose amp. I don't think the problem is generated by a power cliche. I will save all registrations and do a factory reset to see if this helps. ...thanks again...shep
  13. Hi Brad, thanks for your reply. The registration was different and I don't have batteries in the keyboard. Obviously no one else has had this problem otherwise you would have knowledge of this problem through the forums. As previously stated I'll try a reset after saving my registrations. A lot of trouble though for a brand new keyboard to behave in this manner. I previously ran an Arturia KL88 controller with iPad pro apps ( iGrand etc) and experienced many software cliches .That is the reason I went to the PXs3000 , but I've still got the problem....arhhhh
  14. Hi All, my PX 3000 crashed again today whilst playing a gig. This is the second occasion. I had just selected a registration , which froze , and then the keyboard turned itself off. Same result as last time. I'm thinking of saving all of my registrations and doing a software reload.....any ideas will help....shep PS I can't really afford any downtime although I do have a PX-560M backup.
  15. Hi All, not a power supply problem, but a definite scrambling of the software. Hopefully a one-off. In relation to my query regarding the output level of the keyboard I'm glad though this forum that my finding have been verified. As I own both a s3000 and a 560M it is an easy comparison.
  16. Hi All, I was rapidly changing registrations and my s3000 crashed and turned off. I then rebooted and all was OK? Anyone else experience this problem?....shep
  17. Thanks kybdsammer I will try your "fix"....shep
  18. I wonder if this "problem" can be addressed by Casio? I find I have to use my 560M for "loud" gigs as the line out volume for the 3000 is toooo low.
  19. Thanks kybdsammer, I'm glad someone else has noticed the difference in volume. I have played a multitude of keyboards , types and brands and have noticed quite often that "professional" keyboards have a greater line out volume than home keyboards. This may be the case with the 3000 and 560? I also agree about the bass volume....shep
  20. All points taken. The reason for my post is to see if anyone else has noticed a difference in the line out gain of each keyboard. I certainly have . The PX 560M is much louder for the same settings on each keyboard and amplifier. If I ran the 3000 on 12 o'clock I would not be heard even by cranking the Bose up full.....shep
  21. Thanks for your reply, however, I was not overdriving the Bose, only set at half gain , likewise with the 3000. I used a separate amp to conduct my tests and although the volume of both keyboards was set at maximum the volume of the amp was low. My point is that there is a difference in the line output of these two keyboards.
  22. Hi All , I own a 3000 and a 560M and was concerned about the gain from the 3000. I set both keyboards up the same way , i.e. touch sensitivity off, keyboard volume maximum and set the amplifier to a constant volume. I played middle C and for the 3000 the decibel reading was 78.7 and for the 560M the reading was 81.3 I have read the posts concerning the voltage output at the line out's but my data shows there is a greater gain from the 560M than the 3000. The reason I did this was because through my Bose Compact L1 I was getting clipping from the 3000 at high volumes. I haven't tried the 560M under similar conditions yet but I would guess that I will have more volume and less clipping. Any thoughts appreciated......shep
  23. Hi , I'm using "Midi Plus " USB Midi to Host works perfectly....
  24. Hi, I have a PX-560 and a PXS3000 , both are great . The action for both is very similar and I believe the PX 360 is similar also but without the bells and whistles of the more expensive model.
  25. Hi Rod, yes, not what I wanted to hear, I'm using the usb port to send signals to another midi instrument and cannot use Chordana at the same time....thanks for your input...shep
