    Casio PX-S3000

Hi @kybdsammer, I have added the Casio PX-S3000 custom voices - here is the custom link: https://midistage.com/?customVoices=Casio PX-S3000

Additionally, I have added a new Song mode. It is a MIDI player that can trigger custom voices. Note that the speaker icon is only for previewing purposes. Let me know if this feature is useful.

This is an amazing testimony of using MidiStage in a real live worship application. ❤️ 👌  It's made my day!

Will it be compatible with the CT-X5000?

Hi @Casio Key, for most common CC# like volume, expression, hold pedal, and pitchbend, it should be compatible.

As bank select is hardware specific, I will need to add a custom voices data of your Casio CT-X5000. I will need an extra hand to populate the voices list from the manual. I have created a specific Google sheet template for you:

    Casio CT-X5000 - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1knk1gYMBeY4HVofcpnBScqBq0WugtOEIxJfVU_lj4ks/edit?usp=sharing

Once it is ready, I will add it to MidiStage.

    Regards,

    Reg

    PX350

Hi @Jokeyman123, I gathered few custom voices for your PX-350 -

Please try it out and let me know your feedback: https://midistage.com/?configUrl=demo/casio-px350.json

It takes time to manually enter the data from the manual. Here is the Google sheet for PX-350 I created for you, you may modify it when you are free. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10R0qUeXadU1pD9z8Kbh7EIKqSCwtPXrOwbN8WK7T04k/edit?usp=sharing

No. I won't. Web version is working for me.

  5. Dear Casio owners,

    Hope you are well.

I have developed a WebMIDI master keyboard editor that can enable any home keyboard that have MIDI port, to stack more voices than the factory default. I called it MidiStage.

In this occassion, I created a custom voices dropdown for Casio PX-S1000. It should be able to change sound bank.

As I only have an old PX-100, I need some volunteers of PX-S1000 owners to test MidiStage. Just simply connect your PX-S1000 to a computer/mobile devices (via USB cable) and open any webMIDI compatible browser e.g. Chrome/Opera/Edge, go to a PX-S1000 unique link below:

    https://midistage.com/?configUrl=demo/casio-pxs1000.json

I attached a recording sample 'px100-test.mp3' and few screenshots for you.

I am really keen hearing your experience or any feedback.

    Many thanks,
    Reg

p.s I have stacked 5 voices of my 18 years old Casio PX-100. It sounded very dynamic as it generates voices based on my key range and velocity configuration. It was very enjoyable to play without pressing any voice buttons.

  6. Dear Casio community,

I would like to share my Casio experience in Australia.

I have a 15 years old PX-100 and I need a new PCB and hammer felts 🔨. It have the well-known clicky-clanky action due to tappered felts and sometime it has a long delay (>5s) start-up (perhaps due to a failing electronic component e.g. chopper regulator).

Shriro Australia Pty. Ltd. is the official Casio support representative in Australia. They did not respond to my email regarding spare parts enquiry for my PX-100 for weeks. Maybe they are just that slow 🐌, , lack of staff, unable to locate the service manual PDF or simply L.A.Z.Y.

For curiousity, I decided to give them a call. I was so surprised that they said only selling power adapters, power cables 🔌  and music rests as per their website: https://casioservice.shriro.com.au/collections/electronic-musical-instrument-spares - They also refused to recommend/sell any alternative parts. Instead, they referred me to an authorised repair shop located almost 60kms distance from Sydney CBD. This particular shop were not interested in selling parts and agitated to help. Basically, he stated a clear message that I am on my own.

I was giving up dealing with Casio and their repair shops. I was thinking might be better to go to Bunnings (a hardware store) to get some felt tapes for DIY solution.

    Quote

"Due to age, the part is no longer available and we cannot recommend from a different model. We can only refer you to a repair shop. They may be able to work something out for you." said Shriro Australia.

Regarding the failing PCB, I will enjoy the Privia until it will not turn on or maybe getting a second hand parts from eBay.

And about the clicky-clanky action, I was reading an article of someone used a Yamaha Clavinova felts and I did it. Contacted Yamaha, ordered the parts and arrived in my door step within a week. After a felt replacement, the action is as quiet as the Clavinovas 🎹  . If you have second thought about this and your Privia is out of warranty, don't hesistate to do it.

    Quote

"We do not sell parts. You can bring your keyboard here and we open it for a fee." said a Casio repair shop within 60kms distance from Sydney CBD.

As much as I love Casio's price & quality ratio and this great community forum, sadly this PX-100 will be my last Casio experience. I am withdrawing my intention to buy an award winning PX-5S pro keyboard for my home studio and/or live rig.

Music lovers usually will keep their beloved digital pianos for a minimum of 5 years and we will do our best to perform any simple repair, like myself.

Ask yourself what would you do if your Privia or Grand Hybrid need a maintenance repair after 5 years and your local Casio responded 'We no longer have parts'? Yamaha and Roland stocked older parts and selling parts to myself.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Casio digital pianos to a friend or relative, until I can buy genuine spare parts directly from Casio and being helpful assisting older model owners.

Please share your Casio support experience in your country. I would love to hear it.

Happy weekend and keep playing with anything. :keys:

    install a huge monochrome screen

Hi Andre, I kinda like the PX-S3000 display, A giant dot-matrix version of 🍎 macbook pro touch bar comes to mind.

9 Dot-matrix Sliders and Knobs would be awesome.

  8. Thank you for your reply.

1- Plenty of resources. You can actually layer 2 "hexlayers" of 6 osc. each and 2 other  "melody" tones (basically editable preset sounds) for a total of 14 total sounds.

I am still curious with the amount of resources. How many Oscillator / Melody are required to construct each good quality sound I desired earlier below?

    1. Piano MKS - Dave Weiser's Classic Keys pack
    2. Strings
    3. WarmPad
    4. Brass Section - similar to Poly Brass
    5. AngelVox
    6. Organ
  9. Hi Scott, you are spot on. Thank you for your instant response.

I am thinking to get this stage piano as a main keyboard. Allow me to ask you questions while I am trying to understand this beast:

My desired stage sounds set are:

    1. Piano MKS

    2. Strings

    3. WarmPad

    4. Brass Section

    5. AngelVox

    6. Organ

#1 - I am aware of 6 Oscillators & 256 Polyphony in this keyboard. However, there is no ROM size i.e. Yamaha Motif/MOXF WAV ROM is 741MB. Does it enough resources for above stage set I desired?

#2 - Does this Stage Piano architecture able to layer 6 sounds within 4 zones and individually volume controlled by sliders 1-6? I am lost here...

#3 - I experienced notes cut-off when playing a Motif XF. I was using a slightly modified "Yamaha Concerto" Performance - 3 Voices & 1 User preset (4 parts). Will Casio eliminate this lack of polyphony issue?

Thank you again and looking forward to your insight.
