WJR1254 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Hi all, I recently bought the MZ-X500 and I'm loving it! However, I have tried to load .sty files into the keyboard but these do not show up. I have upgraded to the latest firmware but every time I search the usb stick it says there are no files on there when, in actual fact, there are! If anyone could shed some light on what I'm doing wrong or missing out, that would be great! Quote
Brad Saucier Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Welcome to the club! STY files have to be converted to Casio rhythms using the pattern sequencer's midi import function. Let us know if you need more direction. Quote
WJR1254 Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 Thanks for the reply! I've loaded it into the pattern sequencer and made the necessary changes but it doesn't show up anywhere once I have executed it. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 You'll need to press "write" and save it to a user rhythm location. Quote
WJR1254 Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 I've tried this however it says No Data on the left side of the screen. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Perhaps you mean "No Data" on the right side of the screen? Those are your empty slots. Highlight one to choose that empty slot to write your rhythm to. Choose rename if you wish to custom name your rhyhm. Press execute to save. Quote
WJR1254 Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 Thanks for that, sorted that issue. However, when I play the converted style, there is only drums even though the accompaniment button is on. I have normalised all the variations but still to no avail. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 It sounds like the tracks that contain note data may need to be selected manually during the SMF import conversion from STY to Casio rhythm. Quote
jamesy Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Hello. I have also tried to do the same, but it still shows no data when I try to import the files Quote
