Help with sending clock via midi

Recommended Posts

Hi, first time here. I bought a PX5S recently, and I've been trying to set it up with my Roland Gaia SH01 via midi.

I want the arpeggiator of the Gaia to be in sync with the tempo of the PX5, but the Gaia is not receiving any clock via midi (I can, however, play the gaia sounds with the px5, so part of the midi is working). I already set the clock source of the gaia to "MIDI", with no sucess.

I tried setting up the PX5 as master, but I dont know if any additional setting is necessary for the px5 to send the midi clock. Can anybody give me a hand with that?

Thanks!!

Fabian

Hi there. Welcome!  I haven't tried it that way, but I do know the PX-5S works great as slave to clock from an external source.  Can you set the Gaia to master and send clock from it?  I think it would work with PX-5S as master as well.  The PX should start sending clock when something is running, like the arpeggios or phrases.

Hey, thanks for replying.

I set the px5 as slave, but now I have to figure it out how to set the Gaia as master clock in the Gaia Forum because the PX5 arpeggiator is not running. Man, I swear, I love the keyboards, but someone has to pay for the lack of an unified protocol :)
