Leo schlueter
So here's my dream: I can just plug the px into my laptop and use it to create songs using the built in keyboard instruments over midi, directly onto a daw (likely reaper). To do that, would I need both a MIDI USB AND an audio line out from the PX hooked into my laptop? or would able to do it all over MIDI usb alone? What's the simplest way to accomplish what I have in mind here? Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks
Brad Saucier
If you plan to use entirely sounds from the keyboard, only midi is needed. The built in audio recorder can capture the finished mix of your song as a wave file on a thumb drive.
Leo schlueter
Thanks! so, lets say I record 6 different tracks using 6 different PX instruments onto my DAW. Would the casio be able to play them all back simultto render the song?
Brad Saucier
Yes. It's actually capable of 16 channels of playback at once. There are minor restrictions on the type of tones however. Hex layer tones can only be used on channel 1 and 2. The rest can be normal melody tones.
