rrttdd
While playing around with the pads, I got the idea that a feature like "measure synced sampling" would be great for the pads. It could be placed at the "Pad Record Select" screen: Pad Record Select [Phrase] [Phrase overdub] [Sampling] [Chord] [Measure synced sampling] [x=Number of measures] Hitting that "Measure synced sampling" screen button, sampling would not start immediately, but it would start syncronized with the next "1" beat of the metronome / accompainment for the next "X "measures and stop after x measures hvae been played. I'm thinking of some external MIDI gear like a DJ console or a looper. You could sync them via MIDI to the MZ-X and use them for example to timestrech a recording to the tempo of the MZ-X. With that suggested option, you could put a perfect sample of the recording at the correct tempo to the pad.
Brad Saucier
This is already possible. Pad samples do not loop based on their recorded length. They loop based on the tempo of the keyboard and the playback settings of the pad. If you accidentally record more sample than is necessary, it doesn't matter. That part will be ignored during loop playback. If you accidentally start recording a sample before the exact start point you wanted, you can trim the start point of the sample. It's a brilliant system. You can get a perfectly looped sample with these tools.
