Towjam
I've been following (and lusting for) the S3000 since I saw the NAMM demos. I currently use a Yamaha MX88 connected to either my Surface Pro or iPad Pro running various DAWs. The MX88 supports audio over MIDI so that I don't need a separate audio interface. This was one of the primary reasons I chose the MX over several other synth/keyboard controllers. My question for Mike (or anyone else at Casio or on the forum): Is it possible via a firmware upgrade to add audio over MIDI functionality? If so, is this something Casio is looking into? Or, is the lack of this a limitation of the chipset used in 3000's midi implementation? If there's even a possibility of a future firmware upgrade, I'll pull the trigger immediately and replace my MX. Thanks! TJ
Brad Saucier
I know what you're asking for and it would be useful, however I can say that it is not going to be something they will add. Firmware updates are not expected for the PX-S series.
Towjam
Thanks Brad - although I sure hate to hear that. But... in Mike's YouTube webinar, he mentioned that the 2nd USB connection (not present on the 1000) could be possibly used for firmware updates so I'm not giving up hope just yet. 😉
