mike71
What kind of grease should be used with Casio hammer action and spring action keyboards? There's an official guideline about this, like characteristic or brand and type to use? I suppose this one for acoustic pianos isn't the correct type: https://www.howardpianoindustries.com/protek-mpl-1-lube/ Maybe it's better the Yamaha one? https://www.proaudioservice.co.uk/product/yamaha-piano-keyboard-grease-g-1006y-ca-10gr-white-key-qn110896/ I suppose that a silicone grease for platics should work, like this: https://arexons.it/en/products/industrial-maintenance/lubricants/silicone-grease But I am not sure, any idea or unofficiallly official statemente could be useful. Jokeyman123
White keyboard grease from Yamaha would be OK, Casio uses something similar. I would be careful with silicone-might be safe but remember there are many different types of plastics-I'm not completely sure silicone is inert to all plastics. and don't get any anywhere the rubber boots-even though these should be sealed pretty tight onto the circuit boards-even a little contamination can create contact problems. I wouldn't use anything unless I was sure it needed it. Maybe Brad or Mike Martin can weigh in on this, I am not an official Casio tech, just someone who tries to learn from his mistakes, and not make them in the first place. Anders Nilsson
In general - do not use silicon grease for any application unless it is specifically advised. Silicone creeps into everything and can lead to electronics malfunction.
