Removing back/top panel to fix sliding cover

Recommended Posts

Thanks for your interest Brad. Yes old but in good shape except for the keyboard cover. It has to be pushed evenly from both ends but a visitor (kid) didn't know this so he pushed on one end and it sort of got derailed. I think I can only be helped by someone who has had the same dilemma and found a solution. I have tried to ease it off with screwdrivers but something seems to be holding it down even though all screws are out. All the screws go into the rear face of the panel which is a long right-angle folded panel. I have loaded a picture.

OK my mistake. The panel is hinged at the back and apparently must be released at its' front. So now I have to work out how to get the adjoining panel (in front of it) off to release the bigger panel.
