XW-G1 - changing tones (incrementally) in external synth

Hi,

Using my MIDI controller (Roland A300), I am able to configure one button to increment the patch on an external synth. This is done by configuring the A300 from its software (Assign Message=Channel Message and Type=Program Change - Inc). I did the same for the program change decrement. So if I press the dec or inc buttons on the A300, the patch number is decremented or incremented on the external synth.

I am not able to perform the same action from my XW-G1. For example, if the external synth current patch is 77, incrementing on my G1 that does not give 78 but rather another number according to what number I have on my G1.

It appears to me that the A300 is not sending the LSB and MSB info whereas the G1 always does. Is there a way to work around this problem?

I can't think of a workaround for this.  I know the multi function keys can be set to trigger a program change, but I don't think it can be set for incremental change.
