Custom tone not saving settings ; Please Help

Hello,

 

Please help and thanks in advance:

I select a piano tone, adjust reverb time and return,

I go to controls and assign the Modulator wheel to control CC Reverb.

I go to write and assign it to a "User1" and rename and assign and save.

 

The tone works; the modulator works. Then I power down, power up, and change the default grnd. piano tone to the  the "user1" renamed tone and the settings do not work.  The mod wheel goes back to controlling vibrato, or whatever the modulation is.

 

Please help.

I think control change messages are only saved with a registration. the reverb setting should be stored with the user tone, but the mod wheel assignment, I'm pretty sure must be saved with a registration and the tone used in that registration. Whenever I change settings for the pedal or mod wheel, those settings need to be in a registration to get it to work. I've had to do this with organ Leslie type effects settings that are not saved with the tone such as speed/on-off with a pedal or mod wheel.
