XW-Addict
You know what I'm missing the bass synthesizer inside the MZ X500. It occurs to me that none have shared experience from that unique synth. I vaguely remember its also a hexlayer type of synth but monophonic different unlike the solo-synth of the XW. The PX5S hexlayer synth (Very proud having this), Isn't able to do monophonic although there are tricks to do it its not quiet it. PX5S has enough waveforms to make a narly synthesize bass. Like Dave Weiser Bass pack also demonstrate and still up get. I hope there is still interest doing bass sound on the keyboard like the MZ X500 or PX5S I'm interested to hear techniques or experience how one go's at it to create a bass sound on their keyboard. Brad Saucier
Bass synth tones are basically the same as hex layer tones on the MZ-X500, only with some synth bass specific waves added to the list. I haven't programmed any bass tones myself. The presets are very nice.
Chas
Totally different synth, however, the CZ line was excellent for making just about any kind of bass patch you could want. From thick, warm and fuzzy to crisp, sharp and punchy. Pretty much a case of choosing the right waveform (s), setting the envelopes right, and if using two "lines" (oscillators) a little bit of detuning went a long way. I'm sure the same techniques could be applied to the MZ-X500.
