XW-Addict
In the beginning I had the synth and it sounded great because someone else made wonderful sounds on it, I could play with those sound, tweak them combine some of them call it a patch and was content for the day. I couldn't fully understand programming synth sounds let alone piano sounds (still) I'm no pianist. What was sound what was a tone what are all these waves. What was an Filter , Amp , Envelope or LFO show it me I do it to but still nothing. Practice makes perfect. Then it happen. Sounds my sounds every wave became the sound I wanted every wave became a new sound a different sound. I knew for sure getting close to the power of this stage keyboard it had everything I didn't know how to use then and now it just spitting it out and now I know where to look for these sound spectrum. I got into electronic music tried to convince it to give pumping sounds... it didn't my mediocre style had no pizzas to life up to that instead I had stumbling cacophony of wishy washy rhythms and patches. The idea to create electronic music fired me to master this keyboard. Force it to show me the way of the sonic I where inexperience with. Saddened to be it showed me to the standard preset where there were none for me to go for, But still it pointed me out that way I reluctantly abide to it and..... Again ive worked hard to get these pumping sounds with the presets of tones , arpeggio , phrases , hexlayers and what not. Until one day. To make sure I've repeated my steps stopped where I gotten and studied the course that had been fulfilled here by enthusiasm then by knowledge. Yes I started to see the things pointed out to me by this keyboard , Have I been blind all the time. No I was inexperienced it knew and happily teach. Falling on my knee's raising my hands to the sky .. EUREKAAAAAAAAAA. My new still frail found skill and knowledge found fruition as I listen to the pumping of the first a hexlayer drumkit a bass, pluck and gated pad blasted out of the headphones all in one stage. Look here I said while pointing a finger at the keyboard, For I can do also these wonderful sounds given by the creators as I also am becoming one of them. Now lifting the keyboard towards heaven as if it where like a heavy boulder , lightning surrounded and bewildering sounds like sines , noise and pulses became the thunder of coronation I laughed and laughed as if one reached a certain pinnacle. THE END. This weekend I'll release some of the narly electronic music patches and weekend jam from those. *(bows thank you)*
Jokeyman123
This sounds like a n epic poem, like the Odyssey and Illiad! Homer (not Simpson) would be proud!
Tom Williams
Congratulations, XWA. II know what it is you are feeling. I'd just been playing (and enjoying) my PX-5S for the past several months, but hadn't done any voice programming in a while. Just yesterday I ran the voice editor and built myself a new layered piano in about 20 minutes, then just played on the sound for the rest of the afternoon. I am repeatedly amazed at how big a PX-5S can sound. Pretty amazing for a "stage piano." I look forward to hearing what you've put together!
