ThePianistJam
Hi everyone, I recently tried to record some songs on my PX-160 and tried a few things (different wire combo and splitters) to record it. I successfully recorded it, however after I noticed an airy noise that escalates to a louder buzzing noise on my nicer headphones. The noises have varying loudness on my different headphones (the ones i used to record seems to be the loudest), but completely new ones still experience a faint airy noise. The noise does not seem to be effected by the volume setting and is there whether or not I am playing a key/pressing a pedal. My fear is that I may have accidently played a sound into the PX-160's output jacks and fried something. Is there any tips on how i could verify this and possibly resolve this? I have some tools and am willing to open the piano up, I'm just not sure where to start. Thanks in advance!
Brad Saucier
Is your PX-160 connected to a computer with USB?
ThePianistJam
It isnt, I currently have only the power supply and the pedals connected. I did used to have a usb A to usb B connected at one point to my laptop.
Brad Saucier
Sometimes a USB connection can cause noise. If it's not that, it could be noise from a nearby cell phone. You might try moving anything that can generate radio frequency noise away. If that doesn't help, try moving the piano to another location.
