newtocasio
I just received my Casio PX-560 Saturday and just started checking out the board basics and sifting through the preset melody tones. I've found something that I'm wondering might be a problem with one of the tones. When playing the 001 NylonGuitar1 melody tone on my unit, the keys from A0-D2 all sound like some sort of percussion sound (same exact sound on each key), while e2-c8 play the expected guitar notes. Is this a fault in the program or is that section of the board supposed to represent something like a closed guitar strumming (don't know the terminology-not a guitar player). The NylonGuitar2 and NylonGuitar3 do not exhibit this, with guitar notes play on all 88 keys. Neither do the wave files 146 Nylon Gt 1 1 and 147 Nylon Gt 1 2. HOWEVER, the wave files 148 NylGt1 StNz1 and 149 NylGt2 StNz2 make the same percussion-like sound I mentioned before on every key of the keyboard. I understand that the melody tones may be made up of a single wave file or combination of wav files, but I don't see any way to determine what combination of wave files may be being used.. Maybe the NylonGuitar1 melody tone is made up of multiple wave files- wave 146 and either 148 or 149 - intentionally? Any insight? It would be great if there was a more detailed description of the individual melody tones available.
Brad Saucier
Yes, it is all intentional sampled sounds of guitar noises and effects like muted strums. You'll find the PX-560 appendix has charts with tone lists and key mappings of all of the sampled sounds with names for each one in a preset tone.
