Sounds selecting from another bank by slider

Title is a bit confusing.

I like to select another sound from another bank by a slider or knob on the PX-5S for changing a Hex layer sound in Zone 1 or Zone 2 of a stagesetting

I don't want to entirely switch to another stage setting, faster and fool proof approach during live playing.

In the common edit option: I see Bank options for MSB and LSB. I know the values: MSB 112 - 36 LSB (switching stage settings by midi)

But how can I actually achieve change a sound with the knobs or slider? And what values do I need to actually achieve this. If it sacrifies knobs to get this to work is no problem 😎

I hope my explaination is clear enough.

and looking forward to any reaction! 😎💪🏻

Kind regards,

Lennert

Hi Brad, I didn't receive any notification. my bad!

Well,

Let see:

Using all 4 zones , volume control per zone per slider.

Stage setting setup:

- Zone 1 & 2 are custom made Hex layer patches (no dedicated controls mapped in those hex layers)

- zones 3 & 4 are piano (accoustic piano bank) and synth (synth/various bank)

Purpose:

Changing acoustic piano to an electric (back and forth)

The frontpanel knobs can be used for that. (knobs have no function for now)

I hope I inform you well, kind regards!

p.s. I'm following this topic now! (I now may respond a lot quicker)

It's not possible to send program changes with a knob, which is necessary to change the selected tone within a zone.  If you had two free zones, you could use two sliders to alternate between two zones, switching one zone off and the other on.  Otherwise you'll need to use stage settings.

I would store various stage settings for different tone setups.  That is what they are designed to do.  Stage settings should not be slower and less fool proof.  Are there any specific issues you are having?

Yes this is also my approach! 😎💪🏻Using multiple copy's from the same stage setting with minor changes per zone.

Well If it's possible to switch between 2 sounds from different banks by a slider that's also no problem 😎💪🏻

Otherwise I need to deep dive and explore the possibilities from my midi control pedal 🤓

Brad thank you! for your help and advice!
