PeterFK Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 (edited) What midi cable do I need to connet Casio keyboard to my Ipad a lightning port? As I don't want to spend $100 for a Casio midi adaptor.... Edited July 20, 2023 by PeterFK Quote
Brad Saucier Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 The following link is a page of connection information and charts describing what is needed to connect various types of devices to Casio instruments. To summarize the chart; to connect Apple devices with a lightning port to a Casio CT-S1, use the Apple camera adapter plus a USB A to USB Micro-B cable capable of data transfer. https://web.casio.com/app/en/music_space/support/connect.html 1 Quote
PeterFK Posted July 21, 2023 Author Posted July 21, 2023 Do you have a link to the actual cable I need to get, I don't like all those pdf files, very confusing... Quote
anotherscott Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 a regular USB A-to-B cable (typical printer cable) plus Apple's "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter" (USB-to-lightning adapter). Apple also makes a cheaper version ("Lightning to USB Camera Adapter") but that one doesn't let you leave the charging cable in at the same time. Quote
farfisa benny Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 (edited) Greetings! Is there any way when using the CT-S1 as a MIDI controlling the GSI DeLuxe app on the iPad to get the audio to go out of the headphone jack on the CT-S1? I use the micro USB cable to the iPad camera adapter route. Edited August 14, 2023 by farfisa benny Quote

Connect the headphone output of the iPad to the audio in jack on the Casiotone. Quote
farfisa benny Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 yes - that is what I am looking to do, thanks. It occurred to me there may be a way to do it with MIDI. Is there a way to use the CT-S1 to control the parameters on of the iPad app? Such as using either the preset buttons and/or using the function button with various keys? Quote

MIDI is not capable of transmitting audio. 53 minutes ago, farfisa benny said: Is there a way to use the CT-S1 to control the parameters on of the iPad app? farfisa benny Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 the One keyboard I used previously sent MIDI to the iPad and received the audio back with a single cable and I ran the instrument cable from the keyboard straight into the amp. That's where I got the thought that it could work with the Casio. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 That would be a keyboard with an internal USB audio interface in addition to MIDI. Quote
Dickey Posted November 17 Posted November 17 Need to connect my ct-S1 to ipad mini 6. I have an apple usb-c to A adaptor to connect to mini 6. I used a generic usb A to mini usb to connect to ct-s1. The ipad mini 6 does not connect to chordana or music space to the ct-s1. Do i need the lightning to usbA camera connect kit? Quote
Joe Muscara Posted November 17 Posted November 17 No, you don't need Lightning. My first guess is that your generic USB A to mini USB cable is for charging only, not for data. 1 Quote
