Gmul
I am soon to take ownership of a new alesis io dock which I also got for a song (€99!). I intend to maybe run a few cool synth apps and already do so but I output the audio from the headphone jack. The stage settings are simple to understand on this keyboard so I have everything working there. This new iPad interface has stereo outs. Can I connect the output to the inputs of the keyboard (saving on another cable and channel being used for the iPad ? I am trying to do all this in my head as by gig rig is in the band storage right now.!
Display Name
Yes you can do this..no problem at all. You may want to look at getting a 2x1/4" mono male to stereo 1/8" male "Y" cable and run the audio from the ioDock into the 1/8" stereo in of the PX-5S.. this way you can assign the external audio volume to a knob or slider. Gmul
This is the back panel of the io dock. Can I just run left out to left in and right to right in. Two mono 1/4" Scott ? Can this input signal not be assigned to a knob? It had to be tru the 1/8"?
Brad Saucier
The 1/4" and 1/8" inputs on the PX5 are controlled by the same External Volume setting and Ext Volume is assignable to any slider or knob. Either way you do it will work.

Yes Gmul - just use a pair if 1/4" cables.
Gmul
I love this forum. 6 weeks ago I couldn't get my head around stage settings vs tones and now I totally understand and dare I even say rather casios architecture. !! Cheers b and s
Gmul
This has got me wondering something. Is this what the 1/4" inputs are actually for? This seems like very forward thinking. Obviously the 1/8 are there for jammin to MP3 players but the 1/4" .... ?Or are they intended to mix another keyboard tru the px? Either way top marks Casio.
Choppin
If you had 2 keyboards and only one input on the amp, you could run the second keyboard into the Px-5s and the px-5s into the amp. And as far as Casio's architecture, it took a minute to get used to the approach, but now it completely makes sense and I like it quite a bit.
Brad Saucier
Yes. It's handy for that. I have my XW-G1 run into the line inputs of the PX-5s right now. Made my life easier today.
Display Name
And you can run your MZ into the XW inputs... daisy chain those bad boys!
Brad Saucier
Actually, the other way around since the MZ has the rockin' 30 watt amp. XW line out> PX line in> PX line out > MZ line in >MZ amp in bypass mode. I just need a triple tear stand that can hold all of this Casioepic glory.
