Joe Muscara
As much as I like your suggestion, I bet it's not possible. I suspect there would be a hardware change necessary. Do any other programmable keyboards do this?
User 29303
do you think it is so difficult maybe like having some free ram and making a copy of the patch you work on it or maybe just into the casio editor software .... .....
Joe Muscara
The editor software might be able to do it somehow, but it would be a little different. If you were creating the edits there it could be possible.
Brad Saucier
When using the editor software, it probably can be restored to a degree using undo/redo. If you start by editing a stage setting using only the data editor and somewhere along the way you accidentally change stage settings on the 5s front panel consequently loosing all of your edits, press and hold the undo button in the editor until you reach the end point. Then switch back to the stage setting you started with and press and hold the redo button until it reaches the end. This should restore most of the edits you have made. It's worth a try when all is lost.

Choppin
Here's an idea: Take a similar approach to those things you don't want to lose when working on a computer (an important document, a program, etc.) save often: Have a "holder" tone or stage setting that you could use to store experiments. So as you are editing a "real" tone or stage setting, when you like how it's going, write it to your holder tone or stage setting. Continue editing the original tone or stage setting until you want to make another update - write it to the hold tone or stage setting. If you mess up, everything to that point is stored in your holder. even if you want to revert the original tone back, it has not been saved in itself, so it's still there.
