darmoht
Hi, I'm playing a px 780 and like to use the build in line in jack with a android tablet (accompany a mp3/video file) and/or a notebook (midi sequencing/notation with anvil studio). So I bought a fitting y cable. 2x mono to stereo (and not a very cheap one) and a USB cable.. When I joined the privia to the laptop by the usb AND the laptop headphone out to the keyboard line in (Y Cable) I hear an annoying noises like a distorted reverberation every time I send a midi note to the laptop!? If the midi sequenzer plays back recodered midi notes everthing is fine.Is the tablet's headphone out connected to the privia's line in (with or without USB) everthing is ok, untill the tablet goes to standby (display off). Then an cyclic repeating noise like a harddisk (of course it has not a hd) appears. So in both cases the line in is useless for me :-( Has it something to do with the impedance? What can i do? byetom
Brad Saucier
It sounds like a USB ground loop. This problem pops up often with gear that connects by separate audio and usb cables. I suggest using the standard midi ports and a usb to midi converter cable like an E-mu Xtab 1x1. This always works for me.
Display Name
I would use an 1/8" stereo to 1/8" stereo and use the stereo mini input on the PX-5S. That's how I run my phone, tablet and PC into it and never have an issue.
Brad Saucier
Sorry Scott. I know I usually do PX-5s questions rather than PX-780.
