wawhoudini
I've been trying to load samples onto my XW P1 following the instructions and having no luck. I was under the impression that if I loaded a WAV file into the musicdat folder on my SD card I could transfer it into the synth and play the sample. Was I mistaken? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Brad Saucier
Audio files have to be converted using the Casio XW-P1 data editor then transferred to SD card using your computer. http://support.casio.com/storage/en/support/download_files/en/008/manuals/DATAEDITORS1-E1B.pdf#page=
Display Name
^^ This ^^^ Pretty sure the data editor compresses the file -- wav files are pretty big.
CairnsFella
I may be being a little slow here... but the above responses are surely in respect of the "G1", but the OP refers to the P1. Unless I am much mistaken, the correct answer is "You can't".
Brad Saucier
We are referring to the P1. The G1 cannot play audio files from the SD card. The P1 can.
Display Name
Oh crap. LOL - I thought we were talking about the XW-PD1. So right - you can not load a audio file into the XW-P1 and play it back on the keyboard like a sample - that is the XW-G1. Off to make an eye doctor appointment... Brad Saucier
Ok...well I was referring to the P1 audio player. lol As Scott said....no playing back samples from the keys. Just straight playback from the audio player. The G1 is the sampler.
CairnsFella
"As Scott said." Hmmm. I am having a "chopped liver" moment.

I would add that if you want to do this with the XW-P1 you can use an iPad or computer with a sampler app/VST/AU and play samples on the XW-P1 keyboard via MIDI.
