musicgeek
Hello everyone, I'm wondering is it possible to have your keyboard hooked up to an audio interface AND to your studio monitor speakers, so that if you just want to play the keyboard without turning on your audio interface, you can? I'm thinking maybe a splitter to create 4 outs might work for this. Any comments/suggestions? Thanks in advance! Melissa
Display Name
Hi Melissa and welcome to the Casio forums. What you want is a small audio mixer with at least 2 sets of outputs (which most will have). The one in the photo is a Behringer XENYX502 $35 and has both 1/4" and RCA outs. You just need to make sure to get the correct cables to connecteach output to your interface and speakers. This will also let you connect a microphone and another sound source to the signalshould you ever wish. There are several makes and models of mixers like this so shop around to make sure you get the right one foryour set-up and budget. Have fun! Brad Saucier
You could run one of the headphone outs to the monitors, and the line outs to the interface. I use the two headphone jacks as sends to different devices. Just a thought.
