Got curious how the spacey sequence thing got done its very nice. Delay was not from the tone itself but the master delay was used here which leaves another DSP free for the tone itself in this case Distortion. I would easily fret with sound designing to build up my chain of fx either use the filters for as fx or all DSP but that last would make the chain to complex and would end with something undesirable rather then whats important. I like the immaculate description of tone building for this stage and the why. 1
