Sounds right to me.

To be clear, are you looking for an audio connection or MIDI? USB is for MIDI only. It does not carry audio from the PX-560. Windows supplies the driver for the USB connection, so it should be good to go.

Contacting Casio Customer Support in Canada
Brad Saucier replied to David_z's topic in General Casio Discussion
Was this during business hours? They're likely working with limited staff and hours during this time. You could try contacting a local repair shop and ask them if they can do warranty work for Casio. You might get lucky. -
The CTX series does not support sample expansion. The user tone slots are for storing edited preset tones. You can press the edit button on a preset tone, edit various settings and save it to one of the user locations. For using your own wave files, you can always connect your CTX as a MIDI keyboard to computer software that can work with samples.

You'll need a standard USB printer cable to connect it to your computer. Bluetooth is only for listening to music through the pianos speaker system. Once your USB cable is connected, notation software will be able to record to what you play using MIDI. I don't have recommendations for particular software. Any MIDI notation software should do the job.

Casio PX-S street piano on youtube...And a Privia!
Brad Saucier replied to Trooplewis's topic in Privia PX-S Series
Keep in mind he is outdoors. The camera likely won't pick up the panel lights under bright daylight and glare. -
how to reset the piano to play single notes
Brad Saucier replied to aheathman's topic in General CTK / WK / LK Discussion
Apologies, I was looking at a different model. CTK-700 does not have auto harmonize. This particular model resets to factory settings each time the power is turned off. If all of the keys are not working normally in normal mode, the keyboard may need repair. -
Try increasing release time.

how to reset the piano to play single notes

Make sure auto harmonize is turned off. -
Where did you read that? All 61 keys will function perfectly as a MIDI keyboard.

Record and playback a split keyboard on PX-S 3000
Brad Saucier replied to Sedorikku's topic in Privia PX-S Series
Yes, it should be the first 2 or 3 channels for split and layer. -
Record and playback a split keyboard on PX-S 3000
Brad Saucier replied to Sedorikku's topic in Privia PX-S Series
Welcome to the forums! Split mode uses 2 MIDI channels, so you'll need to record 2 indepenant tracks. Each track should send data on a different MIDI channel. -
Casio is also a timepiece company, after all.

Back in the day, I would create backing tracks with the song sequencer (called "MIDI recorder" in current models) on my MZ-2000 for my cousin to sing vocals over. I didn't have much in the way of audio recording other than a Philips dual deck CD recorder. I would playback the MZ-2000 in his headphones while recording mic audio directly to CD without the music, so I would have an isolated vocal track. I would then take that CD, playback on another CD player, mix that audio and the MZ-2000 together, running into the CD recorder again to get a final mix. I would manually start playback on the MZ at the correct count-in point as heard in the original vocal track. For a 3 minute song, the CD player and MZ would stay in perfect timing with one another. I'm glad I did it that way because those original isolated vocal tracks survive to this day, where I can use much more sophisticated DAW software I didn't have back then.

Splitting the keyboard sounds into 2
Brad Saucier replied to JohnnyM24's topic in General CTK / WK / LK Discussion
Welcome to the forums Johnny! Unfortunately, split mode and rhythm editing is not available on the CT-S300. Casio starts offering split mode at the CT-X700 level, and the ability to edit preset rhythms at the CT-X3000 level. -
What can cause a metallic woosh (or spring) sound on high notes?
Brad Saucier replied to Kobi's topic in Privia PX-S Series
It can't be turned off. Whenever you play a key, you're hearing an audio recording of a real piano played back at CD quality. The sound is in that recording. -
Yes. Use element copy, in the manual it's under "to copy an existing accompaniment pattern for editing". Basically, start editing the rhythm you want to add a new variation to, select an empty variation, enable the copy element function, select the rhythm number you want to copy from, and select the variation you want from that rhythm. Press enter to complete.
