  1. It is normal and the sound of a real piano. The upper notes on a real piano do not have dampers that stop the strings from ringing out. Since a piano is a percussion instrument, you're hearing the felt covered hammers strike the metal strings. It creates a percussive metallic sound.
  2. CTX series does not offer sampling or sample expansion memory.
  3. I haven't seen one for Studio One yet. I'll let you know if I find one.
  4. It looks like it's made as a portable version of the SP-33 pedal board, for older models. A portable version of SP-33 is something Casio never made. The connector is definitely not compatible with SP-34 based models, so you would still need to purchase a Casio SP-34 for those models.
  5. I use a MIDI to USB cable with mine and it works well, however I made sure to purchase a well known brand name cable. If the cable does not have a brand name on it at all, it likely won't work well, if at all. I've been down that road, and so have many others on this forum.
  6. What you see in a hex layer tone are the raw samples that all other tones are made of. The MZ-X500 does not store stereo waves in memory, and later split those into mono waves for hex layer mode. Stereo samples are stored as split mono samples for use with all tones. The sample manager splits the files. This is the way all Casio keyboards with sample ability work.
  7. Silvano is correct. Simply look at the wave list in a hex layer tone layer. You will see the stereo grand piano is comprised of left and right mono wave sample sets. A total of 8 waves make up the main stereo grand piano tone in the MZX series, 4 left, and 4 right.
  8. My iPad Mini 2 is on iOS 12.4.8 and shows as "up to date". It hasn't received any major updates for quite a while. I'm pretty sure it's in the end of support phase. MIDI Designer Pro 2 shows up in the app store for purchase on this iPad, however a banner notification says that iOS 13.2 or later is required. iPad Mini 2 is getting pretty old now, and so is the 3. I would at least look for a 4. It looks like the Mini 4 current version is iPad OS 14.
  9. Have you tried contacting the store that you purchased this from? For something so intermittent, the only way I can imagine solving it is a complete replacement.
  10. I'm constantly monitoring the forums and Facebook groups. I've never seen a report of this kind. If I had to guess, it sounds like the power supply might be at fault. Do you happen to have another Casio adapter compatible with the PX-S3000?
  11. I personally checked this on my CT-X5000 on older firmware. Keys are blank on the drum set in question, without octave shift, just as the CTX appendix indicates. It is all working normally as Casio designed it. This particular drum set is designed to give us a limited selection of drum sounds for dance music. Some keys will be blank. It is totally normal. Nothing has changed in firmware. I repeat, nothing has changed. Watch me demonstrate on the previous firmware version....
  12. The keys marked on the keyboard are general indicators. They do not apply to all drum sets. The drum kit chart for 775 Dance Set 6 in the CTX appendix does not indicate instruments are assigned to those keys. Please refer to the printed appendix that came with your CT-X5000 for details on which keys are used in each drum kit. Nothing has changed in the drum kits with this update.
  13. Yes, a USB flash drive can be used to backup all user data.
  14. This is normal. Nothing has changed in the drum sets with version 1.08. Please refer to the CTX appendix for specific information and what instrument is assigned to each key in a drum set. Drum sets 790 through 793 are not exactly the same, although they do share many of the same instrument sounds. The drum set charts in the appendix will show which keys have different sounds.
  15. It will store settings indefinitely. Memory is flash based, similar to an SD card. It does not need battery backup like older products.
  16. Hi Jay. Welcome to the forums. Well, does the factory demo tune play?
  17. This is something that might be better solved on Apple forums, unless we happen to have someone here with experience on this issue.
  18. Pressing both tempo buttons at the same time will recall the default tempo for a preset rhythm. Tempo will not change automatically, unless you are using a registration sequence of various tempo settings.
  19. You can export registrations to a USB flash drive using the media menu. This will free up internal memory for more registrations. You can import saved registrations from USB flash drive whenever they're needed.
  20. Are you using an individual sustain pedal or the Casio 3 pedal board?
  21. The PX-160 will only accept half damper operation through the 3 pedal unit port. The Casio 3 pedal unit is the only commercially available pedal designed for that port.
  22. Why do you want to downgrade?
  23. It is working correctly. Bluetooth is for audio only. MIDI requires a wired connection on the PX-S series.
