  1. MZX Firmware download page includes an addendum manual to cover all new features and new instructions. Manufacturer provided sound packs and rhythms for MZX are here.
  2. PX-360 has a 48 part sound generator divided into three groups of parts. The three groups are labeled Port A, B and C. Ports are a way to address these different groups. 16 MIDI recorder solo tracks use port C. MIDI recorder 17th system track uses port B parts. This can't be changed.
  3. 16 solo tracks are available. For each new recorded track, select a new tone for upper 1. It will record the new tone.
  4. Both tones won't appear on the screen at the same time. Before pressing the layer button, select your upper 1 tone. Press layer so it appears on screen. The display changes to upper 2 tone name. Select the desired layered tone. That's it.
  5. Hi Bobby. Welcome to the forums. Decay level is based on the preset tone selected. Some tones may have indefinite sustain as you hold the pedal. Strings, pads and synth tones are more likely to behave that way. This would be the only way on the PX-320.
  6. Before beginning a new recording, preferred settings should be made at that point. These settings will be stored for playback and can't be changed without starting a new recording again. The system track stores more settings than solo tracks, like rhythm, balance, reverb, chorus, delay, tempo, registration choice, accompaniment settings, and one touch. A solo track will only store upper 1 tone and mixer settings. Unfortunately it is not possible to record mixer modifications in real time on the PX-360. Temperament is a global setting. This setting applies to everything. Turn on auto resume in the system menu to save temperament selection while the power is off. It will remember for the next time.
  7. Welcome to the forums. In listen mode, the lesson system lights the next key you need to press. Press play to start the song. During playback, keys will light up where you need to press them. The lesson system will pause playback to wait. Press the lighted key(s). The lesson system will begin playback again until the next keys light up. It will pause and wait like this each time. Hope this helps.
  8. Congrats on your new PX and welcome to the forums! To layer sounds, the easiest way is the zone buttons. Start with stage setting 0-0 as an example. Your display screen shows Z1 on the screen, indicating zone 1 is selected. Press the + zone button to change to Z2, zone 2. Now turn on zone 2. Press both zone buttons at the same time to toggle zone on/off. That's it. You now have a layered stage setting. Note: It's best to create a new topic in the PX5S forum for questions so everything is organized for future reference.
  9. It depends. Technically pedal settings are global, but stage setup memory is designed to store custom settings for various purposes. You'll find some factory provided stage setups will change what the pedals do, especially pedal 2. If you remain with the same stage setup, pedal configuration won't change. You can select from preset or user tones from the tone buttons on the left side of the control panel for use with the same stage setup. On the other hand, it's possible to freeze the current pedal configuration so stage setups can be changed without changing the pedals. That's in the system setting general stage setting filter menu. Pedal 1 and 2 can independently frozen by turning ON the freeze filter.
  10. Check the power supply first. Do you have a way to test it?
  11. It does sound like the reverb system has become faulty. If I remember correctly, I had a different model from the late 90s that also ended up with no reverb. For me, it was water intrusion that caused the circuitry to fail.
  12. CTK-240 resets each time the power is turned off. As far as power, check your power supply. It may be faulty.
  13. Unfortunately this series of keyboard will not receive any updates. Adding a video which covers everything discussed so far.
  14. I wish you the best. We are an independent forum of users helping one another. Sorry we couldn't help guide you to an acceptable solution. ;
  15. The keyboard has a maximum memory capacity of 5 user songs. Each new song recording automatically assigns to the next empty user song number. If all 5 user songs are recorded, the memory message is displayed to indicate all user songs are occupied by previous recordings, regardless of song length. Two options are available to proceed. A song must be deleted to proceed, or a track within an existing song must be overwritten to proceed. To overwrite previously recorded song, press the song bank button and select a previously recorded user song. User songs are numbered 172 through 176. Once the song number is selected, press record/stop. "Rec Trk" should appear. This is to select a track number. Up to 6 tracks within a song are available. The track numbers previously recorded will be indicated on the screen. If track 1 is the only one, all that needs to be done is record to track 1 again. Previous recording data will automatically be overwritten.
  16. Not a bug. As noted above, the PX-560 has a drum tone editing system where each individual instrument within the drum tone can be customized to a high degree, with tools normally only available for a tone as a whole. Each instrument has it's own pitch, amp, and filter envelopes, as well as effects sends. Casio PX-5S and MZ-X500/300 share the same advanced drum editing tools. These also have the same limitations noted above regarding effects and filter cutoff for drum tones specifically. Like the 560, on the PX-5S and MZ-X500, cutoff assigned to a knob has no effect on drum tones, and mixer settings for delay and chorus have no effect. Normal tones are not subject to this limitation. It only applies to drum tones where each key is individually edited, rather than the tone as a whole.
  17. Well that's very unfortunate. If you end up looking for another 560, I suggest doing it sooner than later. It is currently riding into the sunset singing Happy Trails.
  18. Perhaps it's easier to attach a short video so we can spot where you may need help.
  19. Unfortunately it will need repairs by a technician. When did you purchase this? Have you contacted the seller about this?
  20. Unfortunately it sounds like replacement parts will be needed, possibly new main board. With the age of the instrument, another used one like it may be the most cost effective solution.
  21. To record sound from the keyboard onto your computer, it's best to use an audio interface of some type connected to the analog audio outputs of the PX-S1100.
