  1. Yep, feature-wise I'd take the PX-S1000 every time. The only way someone might take the PX-160 instead would be a bigger price difference than you state, or if they like the keyboard feel or sounds better. Personally I think the PX-S1000 beats the PX-160 in both regards, but not everyone does.
  2. I've never noticed such a thing from that model, but I've only been around them in noisy music stores, so it's possible any noise was drowned out by the noise in the store. That being said, I doubt it should be that way.
  3. It's how we reset Tuning or Transpose on those instruments that don't even have a display, like the PX-160, CDP-S100, etc. Hold down Function and press whatever the - and + keys are for that feature at the same time. Beep!
  4. When I want to see if my Mac is receiving MIDI from any source, I fire up MIDI Monitor. It's free. https://www.snoize.com I can't think of a reason why your PX-560 wouldn't be transmitting MIDI over USB. It's Class Compliant, so it should Just Work®. I would check to make sure it's on though. There's probably a setting somewhere that tells it to transmit or not transmit MIDI.
  5. @jose antonio tafalla blas It's not like the polyphony was a secret. If you didn't know it "only" was 64, that's your own fault as it's published in the specs. As far as what @Brad Saucier said to you, you previously said What's the point of doing that? You made your point, it's been seen and read by others including those at Casio I'm sure. They do read and take in user comments for future products. They do investigate and fix (when possible) reported bugs. They do post here and help us with our use of their instruments. But your complaining isn't helping anything at this point. And it isn't just that you're complaining, it's that you don't help others with their problems and it seems like you don't have anything good to say either. I mean, if you bought a new car and every time you picked up your friend, he says things like, "it's only a six cylinder engine?" "the 0-60MPH/100KPH times in this car are too slow" "I think it should have bigger brakes" "the cupholders are hard to reach" "the windows take too long to roll down" "why did they put the radio controls there?" "why does it only have four seats?" "I don't like the color", wouldn't you get tired of taking him? He might be generally right about all those things, but it gets old. At least he could say, "thanks for the ride, congrats on the new car" once in a while, offer a couple of bucks to help pay for gas. To make matters worse, your car was a mid-level model, and he's comparing its features to ones from the high end models and performance versions. We are not only here to praise Casio. We are here to help each other, talk about Casio's music products new and old, and yes, give feedback to tell Casio what we would like to see in future products. But they already know we want it all, and we want it for free. They're going to draw some lines about what features they will give us and at what price points. We might not agree with every decision they make (it will never be free), but we will also realize that they do have to make those decisions.
  6. And make sure you're using this app on your iOS device. If you tap that link on your iOS device, it should take you to the app in the App Store.
  7. Hold down FUNCTION and press the lowest F to move the transpose 1/2 step down, F# to move it up. It's all in the manual. If you're missing it, it's available on the Casio site.
  8. FYI, the power adapter for this model is the same for many other Casio models, such as many of the Privia and CDP series and some CTK and WK models. It should be easy to find or borrow (at least during normal times). Also, it can be worthwhile having a spare, unless you never take the keyboard out.
  9. Funny, lots of pros like the new action. Rachel Sage, Steve Weingart, Steve Nathan…
  10. I've seen PX-350 models in some Guitar Centers until fairly recently. Their website only shows one, and it's used.
  11. I've long known about ifixit, but I had no idea they had other stuff besides computers and iPhones, things like that. Cool, thanks for the tip! 😎
  12. Do you have another keyboard or sound module that has MIDI, or a computer or iOS device with sounds? You could plug that in and see if you can use the 560 as a controller if the MIDI output is working.
  13. Really. There are lots of players who have tried the new action and really like it. I think some of the more famous players have been mentioned elsewhere when it came out. These players have been playing piano and keys for a long time as well.
  14. I hope it was *really* cheap. Heck, I don't know how someone would break that, and I'd be concerned about other problems if you fix that part yourself.
  15. AFAIK, all the 12v power adapters Casio has made for a number of years (at least) work across all the other models that use 12v adapters. This includes most of the Privia models, and the CDP series. The amperage hasn't changed. It goes as far back to the PX-330 and the CDP-120 (but not the CDP-100 nor CDP-200). Richie should be fine. 👍
  16. I would like to hear that as well. Once you do, you could try a factory reset if we determine it's not something else, but that would erase any settings and things you have saved on it.
  17. The Casio, of course!!!
  18. OT - MIDI 2.0 is really exciting, and they expect it to lead to lots of new things no one has thought of yet, and to last many years, just like MIDI 1.0 did. As McMick said, it's completely backwards compatible with MIDI 1.0. If a MIDI 2.0 device sends out a signal that says, "are you MIDI 2.0?" and it doesn't receive a response, it knows the other device is MIDI 1.0 and talks to it like it's MIDI 1.0. It's everything we wanted MIDI 2.0 to be. (right now, until we think of new stuff we want! ) For lots more information, check out https://www.midi.org
  19. Chordana Play for Piano only connects via USB. The Bluetooth connection on the PX-S series is for audio playback only. To use the app on the iPad with the PX-S, you will need a USB "printer" cable with a USB-A connector on one end and USB-B on the other, and Apple's Camera Connection Kit to connect the USB-A connector to the iPad. Don't buy a third-party adapter for this, they are notoriously unreliable.
  20. And simply put, use the + - keys to navigate to the other 695 sounds.
  21. Does it power up? Have you tried using the headphone jacks? Or any other output jacks it may have? Have you tried other built-in sounds? Have you wiggled the volume knob? (It could be dirty.)
  22. Go to the top of the page here, under Browse and Activity you'll see Forums, Downloads, Guidelines, Online Users. Click Downloads.
  23. I have not turned one up that much but I suspect that's not normal. If you purchased it at a store, I'd suggest going back to the store and seeing if the floor model does the same thing or not. If it doesn't, go back out to your car and bring in yours and tell them you want to exchange it.
  24. The PX-S models have 1/4" line outs, the CDP-S models only have headphone outputs. The PX-S models have much more detail in the piano modeling, and more user control over that with features like string resonance, hammer noise, etc., that you can control. Also, they model all 88 keys/notes individually. It's that detailed. There is a lot of technology from the Grand Hybrids that are in the PX-S. If you play the piano in PX-S1000 and the CDP-S350 side-by-side you will hear the difference. That being said, there's a lot to like about the CDP-S350 and it's not a bad choice at all.
  25. I just want to make sure I'm understanding. I've listened to the WAV file on my computer and it sounded perfectly fine. If I read your post correctly, that's to be expected. You're only hearing the noise when you playback the WAV files through your Grand Hybrid. Correct? I'd love to see other Grand Hybrid owners weigh in on this. Unfortunately I am not one, nor is there a dealer in my city for me to go test this.
