  1. Another great demo on the PX-S3000. Particularly impressed with the quick and repetitive note response from the keyboard.
  2. Very impressive duet showcasing the outstanding piano sound on the PX-S1000.
  3. On the PX-S3000, I don't think there is a way to edit a sound's default DSP "000: Tone", but is there any documentation that shows the specific DSP parameter settings used in the default so I can recreate it from scratch and then tweak it?
  4. One of the ways I get around the low volume issue is to modify the sound DSP settings and keyboard touch sensitivity on the tones that I often use so the level is stronger and then save as registration. I can then quickly recall them when performing. I did this to several of my most used sounds, and it significantly boosts the output level so it is more on par with the PX-560 and other instrument output levels. I know this is extra work and not ideal but for me, with these tweaks, I have no issue with output levels to our sound system and the quality of the sounds is really outstanding. I am very pleased with how I can customize a tone to my liking and save to a registration. It would be nice to be able to save edits to a user tone, but that is on my wish list. 😀
  5. As a side note, I've used both the PX-560 and PX-S3000 at my church several times and consider both to be "professional" no matter what they are officially called. Lately I've used the PX-S3000 more because of its size and excellent sounds that work extremely well with my worship band. I normally use piano and string sounds, but I used one of the cool distortion guitars as lead for a song and shocked the congregation. We don't currently have an electric guitarist. I am certainly no guitarist but tried to think how a real electric guitar is played and went for it even though it was out of my comfort zone. I received many compliments about the realism of the sound and playability. As I've said in other posts, both are great keyboards and compliment each other with their different strengths.
  6. With my android phone (has older micro usb plug), I got Chordana Play for Piano app to work with the PX-S3000 using an OTG Micro USB to USB A-Female adapter and USB printer cable like you have pictured above. I suspect some adapters are better than others. So if you try one brand and it doesn't work, try another. Has anyone successfully connected with a USB-C connector?
  7. @SimoneCarini I agree with your reaction to this quote. I suspect the GM SYSTEM was not ON as a default until firmware 1.15. However, this is just my interpretation of their response to me. If anyone else has more clarification on the update, please let us know. Thanks.
  8. I have both the PX-S3000 and PX-560 and noticed the exact same thing as shep. The line output on the PX-3000 is definitely lower than the PX-560. I posted a question a while back about something related to this regarding the bass sounds being much quieter on the PX-S3000. The default bass volume on the PX-560 is much louder and more vibrant when set at the same knob volume level (compare the ride bass on the two instruments and you'll see what I mean). I never received any responses to my post.
  9. Yes, I've tried this and encountered the same latency issue. So far I haven't found one that is as fast as a wired connection. Maybe a new Bluetooth spec would improve this. I would be very interested if someone has found a wireless connection with no latency or at least very little noticeable latency.
  10. I have the PX-S3000, PX-560, Pianoteq, and Midi-Ox. For the PX-S3000 my findings are similar to yours KennyC. I confirmed the PX-560 does transmit note off velocity using Pianoteq and Midi-Ox midi monitors. So far I have not been able to find a way to transmit note off velocity from the PX-S3000. In the midi implementation chart data, it shows O 8nH v=1-127, but I am not sure if this means it should transmit note OFF velocity 0-127.
  11. Sorry if I wasn't that clear in my previous post. I definitely understand the issue with spammers and hackers, and I fully support only registered people can upload and download files. However, what I am saying is currently for other keyboards (PX-560, PX-5S, etc.), the Download page shows the quantity of files and allows anyone to see the number of files available and click to view the descriptions without logging in. I am only asking for the same setting for the PX-S3000.
  12. Any update on the fix to the PX-S3000 downloads section showing zero files unless you are logged in? It would be helpful to see the true quantity of files (whether logged in or not) so people are encouraged to explore and hopefully contribute more files. 😃 Thanks.
  13. When comparing some of the default bass sounds between the PX-S3000 and PX-560, I noticed the volume seems much lower on the PX-S3000. Is there any way to globally increase the default volume? The sound level seems to be already at max 127. The only way I could boost the level is to tweak the DSP settings and save as a registration, but then I can't use it as a lower split sound.
  14. Thanks Brad. I didn't even think of doing that. It seems to work to layer or split a saved registration with a factory tone, but I still cannot figure out how to layer two saved registrations or have the saved registration as the lower part of a split. As an example, I saved a modified bass tone that I want to have in the lower part of a split, but I am not sure how to do that or if I can do that. Is there any way to swap the single lower and single upper tones of a split?
  15. When I change the DSP setting on a tone and want to keep it, I usually save it to a registration. Is there any way to use that saved tone in a layer or split?
  16. I had glanced through this video before I got the keyboard but must have missed this part. Thanks Brad.
  17. Is there any way to edit the default DSP "000: Tone"? Sometimes I just want to slightly modify the factory DSP, but I don't know if it is possible to start with the original DSP and then tweak it a bit rather than selecting one of the 100 other DSPs and start from scratch.
  18. I don't have a PX-5S, but I have both the PX-560 and PX-S3000. I got the PX-560 about 2.5 years ago and still enjoy using it very much for the same reasons mentioned above. I decided to get the PX-S3000 about 2 weeks ago because of the many positive reviews and videos on the quality of the sounds and particularly the new key action. I ordered the PX-S3000 based purely on this and my extremely positive experience with the PX-560. Some may say it was a big risk to purchase something I never personally tried, but I am very, very happy with it. I personally like the PX-S3000 key action (noticeably less noisy and not as loose with a good touch and feel) and piano (my bread and butter) and acoustic sounds better than the PX-560. The AiX and "AiR2" combo sound chip (or whatever it is correctly called) definitely seems to be an improvement. I have been using the Reaper DAW with both keyboards the last few days and am really enjoying the quality of sounds from the PX-S3000 and the ability to get different multi-track sounds (all with the same quality effects as if I were playing each tone individually from the keyboard). I have not been able to do this with the PX-560. I could select different multi-track sounds, but the effects were not consistent, and some sounds did not sound quite "right" possibly because of my own inability to set it up correctly. Although I am not a guitarist, the PX-S3000 distortion guitars sound much better to me than the PX-560's. Also, the other acoustic sounds seem to have more realistic nuances that make them sound more convincing. I play for my church worship team, so I also like the compactness, portability, and battery operation capability for flexibility in case I need to play where there is no electrical outlet. I would say they compliment each other with their own strengths, and I plan to use and enjoy both for a long time.
  19. Downloads are now available for the PX-S3000! Great to see both Casio and Community contributions. I noticed the Download section shows 0 downloads for the PX-S3000 if you are not logged into the Casio forum. Is there a way to show the number of files whether you are logged in or not?
  20. Version 1.0.0

    206 downloads

I always like a piano sound that cuts through a mix. This registration file contains four similar power pianos (these are modifications of the factory default GrPnoConcert tone and have a more powerful attack). Each registration has a different Touch Response setting. DSP is Stereo1BndEQ with an increased Dry Level. Knobs control Brilliance/Reverb. Rhythm is Straight 8Bt.
  21. I haven't seen any PX-S3000 files to download yet. The factory sounds are excellent, but it would be great if we could start building up some creative content to share.
  22. I assume you mean piano-related files to download. If so, click Browse-->Downloads then on the right you will see Casio Official Files and Community Created Files. Click on the Privia PX-560 links to find a bunch of different types of tones and hex layers that you can get and then upload to your keyboard. You might have to search a bit to find piano-specific files as they are not grouped by type. In general, if it is a piano tone, be sure to upload it in the piano bank, if it is a hex layer, be sure to upload it in the hex layer bank, etc. Some have specific instructions on how to upload the sounds and set up. Some might be compressed files that you need to extract before uploading. I also suggest reviewing the Casio manual (you can download from the Casio support website). There most likely are some other posts related to this, so feel free to search the forum too. I know there are PX-560 Tutorials that are pinned on the main PX-560 page. If I recall, there should be one about loading tones. Not sure if this will translate correctly in Portuguese(?): Eu suponho que vocĂȘ quer dizer arquivos relacionados ao piano para download.
  23. Jason, I was wondering if you received your PX-S3000 and have any thoughts about it. Thanks.
  24. PianoManChuck's review of the PX-S3000. I appreciate that he goes through the various menus of the keyboard as well as some quick sound demos.
