  1. Any chance you can upload a video or audio of it?
  2. Video comparing PX-S3000 with other keyboards. Listen with some good headphones. I think the Casio PX-S3000 sounds great.
  3. I appreciate the information Mike. I really like layering a piano tone in Upper 1 with another tone in Upper 2. I am mainly trying to see if I can make use of the hex layers so I can have even more flexibility by combining the layered tones into one hex layer. Then I could have two killer hex layers in Upper 1 and Upper 2 on the Main screen. Regarding the left and right piano waves, should I pan GrPiano2-L fully left and GrPiano2-R fully right to get the best stereo sound? Thanks.
  4. I've been able to tweak existing piano tones and save them on the PX-560, but I am not sure how to duplicate/recreate a piano tone in the hex layer. For example, say I wanted to recreate the default GrPnoConcert tone in a hex layer, how would I do that? At first I thought I could just copy the same tone parameters in a hex layer, but they appear to be somewhat different. I am also not sure what base waves to use (like GrPiano2-L, GrPiano2-R, etc.) and how to set it up. I've tried various things but haven't been able to reproduce the same sound compared to the original tone. Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this or maybe have a good basic hex layer piano template that they wouldn't mind sharing? Thank you.
  5. .rar files are compressed files so you need software like WinZip or 7-zip to open it and extract the Casio-readable files.
  6. @ArtinS, I hope you don't mind me translating your previous post into English too. I think other Reaper users would greatly benefit. Here it is: "It turns out the file * .ins for sonar and for the reaper. File on the official website in downloads PX-560M_CW.ins" I always thought it had to be a .reabank file. I never realized that Reaper can read the PX-560 patch script .ini file directly. This is great! Thank you so much for posting.
  7. Are there any other PX-S3000 owners who have successfully used the line out jacks? Based on the many YouTube videos that I've seen, it appears the line out jacks are being used and producing a great, quality output signal. Maybe the line out jacks in your unit are not working properly. It may be worth getting it checked. Regarding the speaker on/off setting, if it only works when the headphone jack is used, this would be limiting. It would be nice to have a global speaker on/off setting for more flexibility.
  8. I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I thought the title of this thread is simple and direct. Rich Formidoni performs on the Privia PX-S3000 Digital Piano - all playing and no talking. Another great demo of the sounds! I appreciate the video shots of the sounds used too.
  9. Great live clinic today on the PX-S3000. Mike Martin did a fantastic job of answering questions and demoing some of the excellent sounds and capabilities! I can't wait to get my hands on one.
  10. It did not sound like any of the keyboard tones. It was more like a loud, constant blaring or buzzing noise. It was not like audio feedback. It definitely made me jump when I first heard it. It was loud enough to startle my family members who were in other rooms in the house. They all rushed over to see what was wrong. I am still recording a video each time I power-up the keyboard in case it happens again. So far I am baffled by it as it has not happened again. In the meantime, I tried to find a similar noise sample online. The one attached is somewhat close, but the pitch was lower. Thanks. Noise.mp3
  11. Yes, the level knob in the back was turned all the way down, and I was not using it at the time. Since my last post about two weeks ago, I haven't experienced it again.
  12. Yes, I have the sustain pedal, line-out L-R jacks connected to my external speakers, and midi cable connected to my computer. I haven't changed my set-up for a while and just turned on the keyboard like I normally do. I was just planning to play the keyboard using the built-in speakers without powering on the external speakers and computer. I've done this many times with no problems. I've tried turning it off and on again several times this evening and everything seems to work fine again. I'll try to video the issue and post it if it happens again. Thanks.
  13. I had a strange problem that happened today. I pressed the power button to turn on the PX-560 and a loud noise started blaring out of the speakers. Volume was all the way down, and I had not touched any other buttons besides the power button. The only way I could stop it was to unplug the power cord. I plugged it back in and powered it up, and the loud noise started again. I tried it again the third and fourth time and it worked normally. I've had the keyboard for several years and this has never happened until this afternoon. Has anyone else experienced this and know the cause?
  14. Here are some PX-S3000 rhythm, sound, and layer samples that I found. I think it is from the Polish Casio website. https://casiomusic.pl/produkt/pianina-cyfrowe/privia/casio-px-s3000/
  15. Check the Download page for some new Hex Layer sounds from Mike Martin. Great to see some new Casio additions for the PX-560.
  16. Great news. Thank you Mike!
  17. Here is another review of the PX-S1000 and PX-S3000.
  18. Thank you ArtinS for posting the guide. It's great to have another reference for Reaper.
  19. Just saw a post from Mike Martin about David Weiser's vintage keyboard presets to be released for the PX-560 after NAMM. PianoManChuck also mentions it in one of his videos. http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2799520/4.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R10QJNQT7Bk Thanks Mike and PianoManChuck. Fantastic news!!
  20. Thank you for your comments Brad and Jokeyman. As usual you have been a great support for me and many others with your great posts over the years.
  21. I decided to make my own patch script. I uploaded the file in the Downloads section in case anyone wants to try it or tweak it to make it better.
  22. Version 2.0.0

You can load this .reabank file in the Reaper DAW track's "Bank/Program Select" section or through the Track FX window to select PX-560 tones. This is my first attempt at creating a patch script file for the PX-560. I found a PX-5S patch script and used it as an example. I used the Casio PX-560 Appendix document as a reference to find the tone numbers (Bank Select MSB [5] and Program Change [4]) to use. I used "0" after every bank number and before the bank description. I have not added all the sounds to the file because it is a painstaking process since the tone numbers are not sequential and don't seem to follow any pattern (unlike the tones in the PX-5S which seem to follow a more logically grouped pattern). The .reabank file is just a simple text file, so you can modify this file to add other tones. If you are interested in doing this, hopefully you can figure it out by looking at the file and Appendix. It was a challenge to figure out how to group the tones, so I just ended up grouping them by banks (each bank can have a mix of tones) and naming them as best as I could. If you know of a better way of organizing the tones or creating a patch script, please share. Reaper PX-560 patch script.reabank
  23. I am slowly learning how to use Reaper DAW with the PX-560. At first I wasn't sure if you could easily do this, but now I see it is possible and opens some exciting new options for me. I noticed there are patch scripts available for download from Casio: Since I could not find a patch script for Reaper yet, I did some research and finally figured out how to create my own .reabank file. It works fairly well, but it takes a while to create the file since the sound program and bank select numbers are not sequential in the Appendix manual. Has anyone come across an existing patch script for the PX-560 or know if one is coming from Casio? If not, any suggestions on an efficient way to create the .reabank file? Thanks.

This may seem like a strange "tone", but I use this when I want to quickly use the PX-560 as a controller for my Pianoteq software without having to worry about the keyboard tone setting or volume level. This "tone" produces no sound at all.
  25. Here is the response I got from Casio Japan regarding firmware v1.15 : "In firmware version 1.15, we added the function that start with "GM SYSTEM ON" system."
