tnelson
Is there a way to balance the outputs to the internal speakers and headphone jacks, completely inside the S3000, when both speakers and headphones are used? I've found playing live that the acoustic piano "Tones" sound great in small cafes and clubs if I use a mixture of the internal speakers plus the L/R lines out to powered speakers. That means setting the S3000 volume control fairly high to get enough internal speaker for the blend. At the same time, I'd like to use the headphone out for a send of the pure piano source to my IEMs, but the level set by the main volume control (for the internal speakers) is too high. I could send from the headphone jack into another attenuating device or run the main line out into a mixer for separate sends to my external speakers and IEMs. However, is there a way to change the relative headphone jack output with settings inside the S3000, so I could avoid using another device? Brad Saucier
I don't think there is a software control for that. Casio usually puts the line outs and headphones out on the same physical circuit, so nothing can address them separately at the software level. I guess you could insert something in the line to attenuate it, as you said. Or, use higher impedance phones?

Yes, you're probably right....Too bad, because the headphone output amp does sound very good....It would have been nice to have an independent control for it. Even better, to have the ability to independently mix in the audio input line into the headphone out, so you could mix an ambience mic with the direct piano sound as a personal monitoring system through the headphone jack while you play live.... Brad Saucier
I had a pair of really nice headphones many years ago, lost them, that had passive volume knobs on each cup. Those would be perfect for what you need. I don't know if any are made like that anymore.
Jokeyman123
Try a pair of these.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Maxell-HP-550F-Foldable-Digital-Headphones/271176141644?epid=114555098&hash=item3f235b8b4c:g:5mUAAOSwv0tVLs4Y I've had a pair for a long time-a little on the fragile side compared to good studio cans, but decent sound. Has a mono/stereo switch and a tiny volume control inline with a little slider control. 60 ohms should be fine with S3000.

tnelson
Thanks for the headphone & headphone amp suggestions. However, my hope was to have a simple way to use my in-ear monitors with the S3000 at gigs without additional devices. I can use my MOTU Microbook interface (size of a thick phone), with the AUM mixer app on my iPhone to send a mix of the S3000 + ambience mic to my IEMs, but thought it might be possible to use the jacks and circuitry inside the S3000 to do this without the extra gear.
