leeskeys
does the SP-20 pedal support half-pedaling?
Brad Saucier
SP-20 is a standard on/off switch type pedal. I don't think the 1/4" damper pedal jack on the PX-S1000 itself supports half damper. The Casio SP-34 triple pedal unit is what you would need for half damper operation.
leeskeys
I really only need a single pedal...I have several Yamaha FC-4 pedals, but they are apparently set up for opposite polarity- i.e., sustain is on unless the pedal is pressed. Is there any way within the piano to reverse polarity (i.e. reverse midi on-off signals) so that the pedal operates correctly?
Brad Saucier
You'll need a pedal with a switch to change open vs closed operation, or one with the same specs as the SP-3 pedal included in the box with your PX-S1000.

Does the PX-S1000 not auto-detect the damper on startup? Lots of Casio models do so I would be surprised if they left this out., or is it that they don't do that with the continuous type of pedal? Brad Saucier
Joe, can you confirm this for us with your PX-S3000? As far as I know, the PX-S series does not auto detect.

If it does, I will flip it to the "wrong" way and see what happens.
Brad Saucier
Or, hold down the pedal while it's powering up. It would operate in reverse after that if it can do the thing we think it can't do. But Rod already says it can't do what we think it can't do, so it's up to you to do the test too. 🤔
Joe Muscara
I finally tested it. The PX-S3000 doesn’t auto-detect the damper pedal type.

john*
Bummer. That could have easily been implemented.
