Sam974
Hi. I have a Casio CT-640 and I'm trying to use it with my computer (windows 10 laptop) via a midi/USB cable. I can't figure out how to solve this problem : Input is working just fine, I can send midi from the computer and the keyboard plays it. If a press a key, on the keyboard it will play a note on the computer. Sound is working fine on the ct-640 but the midi ouput seemingly is able to send only one single note, the first I press. I tested both in ACID 4 and in Midi-OX. In the midi console of Midi-OX, same thing, only one note appear (cf. pic). The strangest thing is that if on the keyboard I change the chord/midi selector, exit the midi position, and get back to it I can play another single note. Does anyone experienced the same issue ? Am I missing something ? A setting ? Should I worry about the cheap chinese Midi/Usb cable ? Or the venerable but not so young casio ? I unfortunately do not have another keyboard to test the cable... Any help would be really apreciated, I'm stuck. Thank you and take care. Brad Saucier
What brand is the midi to USB adapter?

Sam974
I tried on an USB 2 and an USB 3 port, same issue.
Brad Saucier
Unfortunately that adapter cable is known to cause the issue you're experiencing. You may want to try a different adapter.

Sam974
Do you have a reference that would work fine with a CT-640 ?
IanB
The Roland UM-One is a good quality interface that properly follows the MIDI specification. I would recommend that.
DevanWolf
The WERSI one worked better even for me. You need to get that one. CH345 interfaces sucks at those.
Paolo70
Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I tried my MIDI-USB interface with another keyboard (not my CASIOTONE CT-640) and it works perfectly. but with the CT-640 only the first note is received by PC.
pianokeyjoe
Brad Saucier is correct, that cheap Chinese knock off is problem. And it misbehaves randomly. The guaranteed cheap but working solution is a MIDISPORT 1x1 NOT the UNO!!! That one is worse than the one you have now lol. MIDISPORT 1X1. Made by Midiman or M-Audio now
IanB
@Paolo70 What happens if you use the CT640 as a MIDI controller for the other keyboard, that is you take the MIDI OUT from the 640 and connect it to MIDI IN on the other keyboard?
