Matt316
Casio Celviano AP-260 problem connecting with USB to Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga to use Piano Marvel software. I can't get this Casio digital piano to show up as a MIDI option in the Control panel under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" like it is supposed to. I had this working with same piano and computer a couple years ago but didn't use this option since then due to daughter taking in person lessons. Now we want to connect to the computer and use Piano Marvel software again but can't make it work. I tried with two different laptop pc computers and tried both usb ports on both computers and also tried two different usb printer type cables like I'm supposed to use and there was no success. I called CASIO and they are clueless and don't have any technicians that can help troubleshoot this. Please help. Thanks! Matt
Brad Saucier
Your AP-260 should automatically enter MIDI mode whenever it is connected to a computer. Have you tried changing the piano USB device mode to storage? If the USB connection is successful, the piano will show up under storage devices on your computer. If that works, MIDI mode should work as well. If storage mode does not work, a problem with the USB cables or ports may be the issue.
Mike Martin
@Matt316 Brad's advice is excellent. If you change the piano's USB mode to "Storage" then you should see the piano show up as a storage device on your computer. This would confirm that USB itself is working properly. I realize you've tried different USB cables, but this is the most common problem when this occurs.
