Brad Saucier Posted December 25, 2021 Share Posted December 25, 2021 Ahh the early ToneBank series with PCM samples, my first Casio used that sound engine (CT-420). At the time, Yamaha was still using basic sine waves to make their piano sounds in competing models. It was really no competition. Out of curiosity, I resampled my CT-420's piano tone and stuffed it in the MZ-X500. Doing that gave new life to that sound, with added velocity sensitivity on the amp and filter, plus reverb. m10538 Posted January 21, 2022 Share Posted January 21, 2022 Hey, it's the sound of my old CT-390! Yeah, that piano is a nice bright tone. Those Casios have what I call a cool 'brash' sound.
