BeigeMage
I bought a Roland Damper pedal DS-1H and when I connect it to the Casio PX-5S it will always sustain a note regardless of having my foot on the pedal. Do I need to buy another pedal or is there a setting I need to configure on Casio?
Solution Brad Saucier Posted December 1, 2022 Solution Share Posted December 1, 2022 Half damper pedals are not compatible. That model pedal is a half damper pedal. You'll see a TRS plug on the cable for the pedal as an indicator of this. You'll need a standard on/off switch type pedal with a TS plug on the cable.
Mike Martin
Brad is correct but the pedal may work even though it TRS....make sure the PX-5S is off when you connect the pedal. Do not step on the pedal when turning the keyboard on. If it is still working backwards, then I'd suggest an on/off pedal such as Casio's SP-20 but any non-TRS pedal will work.
