mordonez Posted December 8, 2015 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Normally you wouldn't expect to have sustain/damper on an organ patch, but I happen to need one. On the Gospel Organ 2 Stage Setup, I tried to assign Pedal 1 to "Hold" in the "Common Edit"/Pedal 1 Edit/Target area, but that got me a sustain that held on even after I released the pedal--I had to hit the pedal again to release the notes. That doesn't seem right? Any tips? Secondly, I have a weird need for this particular stage setup to assign Pedal 2 (or Pedal 1, whatever) to pitch bend if possible--is it possible? I have no idea what parameter to choose for Pedal 2 Target--the Midi Implementation Chart did not help much on my first fun through. Thanks! Brad Saucier Posted December 8, 2015 Share Posted December 8, 2015 1) The pedal was likely originally assigned to DSP rotary speed in this stage setting and the pedal was programmed to toggle. Change it to momentary for use with sustain. 2) Pitch bend on a pedal can be done with master fine tuning target. This means the entire keyboard will bend, all zones, all sounds. It's max range is 2 up or down. Set the pedal to RPN, MSB 0, LSB1, adjust on/off rates and min max value to taste. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mordonez Posted December 17, 2015 Author Share Posted December 17, 2015 So oddly with those settings, set to the widest range, I get a toggle between 1/2 step below the "real" tuning of the keyboard and 1/2 step above--it doesn't allow me to play in the original key. planetwaves Posted December 24, 2015 Share Posted December 24, 2015 Greetings. I've just unpacked and turned on my PX-5S. It's fantastic but... I am not getting any love out of the damper pedal. There is no difference between when it's pressed and not -- I cannot get a sustain. I've tried another pedal, and same deal. Any suggestions -- and how exactly do I program the pedal port? Probably the first line of repair is to reassign the damper function to the pedal where it is the default. Brad Saucier Posted December 24, 2015 Share Posted December 24, 2015 First thing is to double check you are plugged into pedal 1 jack. Believe it or not, it does happen where the pedal ends up in the wrong jack. Second thing to check is pedal 2 jack. The PX-5s is always in stage setting mode (aka performance mode). To edit pedal assignments, edit the stage setting. Press Edit>stage setting>common edit>pedal 1 or 2>target edit>. When finished, you can save the edits by overwriting a stage setting. Do that by exiting to the home screen then press write>stage setting. It gives you choice of save location and renaming before continuing.
