The MZ-X series never gained the kind of traction that was anticipated for it and didn't sell well. Many vendors chose not to stock it and when supply dwindled it disappeared in many markets. Brazil is the only exception as the MZ-X is still available there according to the poster of this thread.

WK 7600 has more keys 76vs61 for the 5000.
-
They are still making the WK 7600 which has drawbar organ. They haven't released a CTX model with drawbars.
-
Don't think you will see any pro gear from Casio anytime soon. They seem to have gone back to staying at affordable price points and delivering value for money.

Those inputs are to connect a canon microphone connector and or a standard 1/4 inch audio cable. You have 2 line outs on your MZX that are 1/4 inch. Connect the line outs from your MZX to those mic/line inputs on the audio interface using 1/4 inch audio cables.

I have a CTX-5000 that has froze up twice when playing with auto accompaniment and a single voice in the right hand. This was on AC power with original Casio power adapter with headphones and sustain pedal plugged into the keyboard. A powercycle was needed to restore functionality. Had no loss of sound volume before it froze.

I saw some reference to the mixer in the MZ-X 500 not saving settings when it was first released in synthzone. I see firmware updates were released to fix bugs but didn't see anything specific to this problem. Was this ever fixed or was there never an issue. Are there issues still with sampling? Thinking about buying one of these.

AP-450: Missing Lug Screw for Stand
Casiofun replied to lmstearn's topic in Celviano AP-x50, x60 / Privia PX-x50, x60 series
Try your local Home Depot or Lowes. They have specialty screws in their hardware departments. -
privia px 870 no sound from keyboard
Casiofun replied to lagathy's topic in Celviano AP-x70 / Privia PX-x70
I doubt you damaged the connector if all you did is remove the ribbon cable. You might not have the correct cable. Make sure something else did not get unplugged. Do you have sound through the headphone jack? Try doing a keyboard reset. -
Casio Brazil isn't a big enough market to keep making the MZ-X. Global is what matters and it apparently didn't do well enough. It does not look like any pro offerings are in Casio's plans at present.

privia px 870 no sound from keyboard
Casiofun replied to lagathy's topic in Celviano AP-x70 / Privia PX-x70
Make sure the cable locks on the connectors are in the unlocked position and the cable is straight in the connector. It has to be fully seated before relocking the cable locks or you will get no sound from the keyboard. Make sure you do this with power off. Unplug the power supply from the piano while working on it. -
You won't get any sound if the cable isn't fully seated. Make sure the cable locks are in the unlocked position on both ends before inserting the cable. From the picture you enclosed your original cable looks fine to my eyes unless it is damaged on the other end not showing.

I don't own the MZX-500 but Casio did little to promote it when it came out compared with the PX5S where all kinds of videos were made to teach users how to use them. Take a look on Youtube and see all the videos for the PX5S made by Casio. Casio seemed to abandon the MZX line after fixing some issues through firmware updates. Then the availability started to dry up in select markets for unknown reasons as vendors stopped carrying them and Casio stopped stocking them. They remained available in North America but they are now discontinued there as well. So it seems it was not a successful product for Casio as far as sales and must not have met expectations. But Casio has never been a big force in the pro market. They have served the home market and have been successful making low cost products with a lot of functionality for the price. They seem to have gone back to this strategy as evidenced by the CTX line, Privia PXS, CDPS and Casiotone CT-S. The MZX was supposed to compete with the PSR-S and Korg PA series. I would think the CTX line will be refreshed or enhanced and perhaps the XWP1 might be replaced.
-
I didn't realize the MZX-500 had been dropped. That leaves the used market for anyone wanting one. Perhaps there will be a replacement for the XWP1 at some point as Casio does not have a synth in their product line. They've never made a workstation either. They only make arranger keyboards. That would be a new product for them.
-
The MZX-500 is still sold by Casio America but has been dropped in other world markets and no one quite knows the exact reason why. Your only option might be the used market if one exists. This model did not get heavily promoted for some reason and for the present Casio appears to be aiming all new products at specific price points that appeal to the home market. The AIX sound chip is at the heart of many of Casios new products. It doesn't look like any of it's pro products are being updated which leads to the assumption they are still selling well.

It's hard to say. Assuming you have the correct sized power supply it could be anything from poor solder connections to bad capacitors or some other component has failed. A lot of times when the main board fails you see Please Wait in the display and it never boots up but you seem to be getting past that. For what it's worth the PX-575 was the North American version of this board. I owned one of these and loved it.

They are compatible with newer Casios and it appears anyone can download them. I downloaded a handful.

It's the Casio Brazil site.

PX S1000 : $200 better than CDP S100?
Casiofun replied to Biggersmiles's topic in Privia PX-S Series
Difficult to answer that for someone else. Technically the PXS1000 has a better piano sample and sound chip than the CDPS line. However adding a computer or ipad changes that dynamic for the CDPS line. If you have an iphone that can be used also. So buying software instruments changes things for either model. -
6500 and Internet Data Expansion System?
Casiofun replied to Oh_Man's topic in WK-6500/6600 - CTK-6000/6200
These are old tones and rhythms for the old series Casio workstations Wk3000, 3200, 3300, 3500 using the ZPI sound source. They are compatible with the newer Casio keyboards including the WK 6500. The new keyboards convert these files to the new AC 7 format and can play them. -
And what about the CTK3500? ...
Casiofun replied to vbdx66's topic in General CTK / WK / LK Discussion
Vbdx66 the soundchip in the CTK-3500 is most likely the AHL. It requires a computer with a DAW software to record -

It is beginning to seem like some of the PXS keybeds may have clicky keys. It is hard to say if all of them will develop this problem. When the PXX30 series came out some of them had a problem where some keys could rub against each other. Casio replaced the keybeds under the warranty and eventually resolved whatever was causing the problem. Customers were not left hanging in the wind.
