not_thepianist
I had a privia px150 for a while and when you plugged in a line out the speakers would mute, this is not the case with the PXS3000 is there a way in the settings to have audio only go to the line? Patrick Doyle
There is no way in the settings to change that. But, what you can do (and what I do) is to plug a headphone cable into one of the headphone jacks. That mutes the speakers. --wpd
Brad Saucier
@not_thepianist Are you sure about that? Connecting to the headphone output on the PX-160 will mute the speakers, just like it will on the PX-S3000. However, connecting to line out on the PX-160 will not mute the speakers, also same as on the PX-S3000.

The headphone output mutes the speakers, however I'm running a line from the back of the unit into an audio interface and using headphones from the interface. Brad Saucier
As Patrick said, connect a plug to the headphone jack on the PX-S3000.

That works but in the event I don't have a spare 3.5mm connector you're saying theres no way to make the line out only line out?
Brad Saucier
Yes, line outputs are used whenever you want the internal speakers to continue functioning. Otherwise, connect to a headphone output.
IanB
I strongly suspect that Casio and other manufacturers don't have a "mute" option to avoid the number of users who would not realise it is on and think their keyboard is broken when no sound comes out.
AteS
As soon as my CDP-S350 is out of warranty, I’m going to make a mod and make a seperate switch on the backpanel to mute the speakers. I think it’s bad for as well as the connector and even maybe the pcb to have always stick in or pull out the headphones plug. There is a switch on the connector, so that mod is not going to be that difficult
Jokeyman123
Some things never change-I did the same mod years ago, for the same reason, with a CTK back in the 1990s! it worked.
