Just Alex
Say you have split voice enabled. The current active (editable) sound is 2nd layer. You go to edit sound, and change octave shift. But it changes octave shift of main voice, not 2nd layer voice

So, edit the tone on the upper 1 layer and then add the edited tone on any of the layers. But if you want to edit just the octave of a tone and save to the registration bank, use the octave button to assign the octave shift to any of the layers.
